Single Parenthood

So, I'm going to get a tiny taste of single parenthood tonight. Lewis just left for school, then for Texarkana. One of his eyes has been funny for a couple of days, so his dad wants him to come up so that he can check it out for him. I feel badly about letting him go by himself (partially because Lew's dad hasn't seen Samuel since he was born),

Hey, friend! If you think that some alone-time with baby will be any of the above: a fun time, a refreshing change from company, a test of your mettle, an experiment in the interests of science, an opportunity for the edification of your soul, etc., then I wouldn't dream of taking the experience away from you. But: if you'd like an extra pair of hands around the house, I *do* have work to get done this weekend, but it's mostly low-key book-work (making handouts and such), and I'd be happy to come over and help out. (Whether to stay the night or just to keep you company/ give you a break for a couple hours).

How long is Lewis going to be out of town?

Just for the night. So, it's not really a big deal. I might be up for some socializing though. I'll probably be giving you a call sometime today.
