A few months ago, I could answer the question "What are you going to go after college?" with "Graduate School". Now that I'm in grad school, I'm starting to hear, "And what are you going to do after grad school?". I've been feeling really down lately...I would say that I don't know what it is, but that's not true. A big part of it is the fact that I spend so much time alone in this house- my roommates are around some of the time but there are lots of very quiet afternoons and evenings to myself. I guess it takes graduating to realize how hyper-social college is. I'm sitting here in my house on a Saturday night in what would be dead silence if my iTunes weren't on. I've been looking through Facebook pictures online and realizing how everyone around me is growing up. The kids I went to school with are now getting married, having their own children, heading to law school; in short, everyone is on their way somewhere. I don't know why I bothered to come home this weekend. I think there was something in there about missing my family but this trip just confirmed how some people continue to be a complete waste of energy.

I miss Ireland. I really do. Everything about it...the sights, the sounds, the smells, the tastes. I miss everything from tea and scones to my heels on the cobblestones to Irish boys to the cool, damp wind blowing across my cheeks. haven't updated in a while...but i've been doing a a lot of thinking lately and i've come to realize that as crazy as my family is, i am still pretty lucky to have them.

in other news, philly is boring in the summer.
