Room 409: Wednesday Morning

May 03, 2006 11:26

Blair walked slowly into his room, trying very hard not to bounce. After his conversation with Nadia in the computer lab, he was determined to prove that he could pretend to be supporting The Man for a whole day. But first he had to prepare ( Read more... )

Marty happens to be wondering around on the fourth floor when he sees Blair wearing a suit.

...

"Um... Is the laundry shortage that bad?"

"Good morning, Mr. Blank." Blair nodded at Marty. "No, this is my regular suit. But it was almost that bad earlier this week when all those illegals took the day off. I say we kick the whole lot of them out of the country."

"Illegals?" Marty said giving Blair a confused look. "Were you on the roof with Nadia again? Because if you have too many of those brownies..."

"No." Blair sneered a little. "I believe in the "Just Say No" motto. Nancy Regan is my hero."

Janet was trying to save her last halfway clean pair of jeans by wearing her jogging clothes--still clean, because she hadn't been jogging since last week--around today. And she was wandering on the fourth floor to find Isabel and see how she thought she'd done on the Western Civ test. Though, now that she thought about it, she wasn't sure if Isabel was on four or five.

But all thoughts of Western Civ or clean laundry were put out of her mind when she saw Blair. In a suit? With his hair pulled back?

"Ms. Fraiser." Blair nodded as he walked past her. "Going out for a jog? You know the government recommends at least 30 minutes of exercise each day."

Blair?

Recommending the government's advice on exercise?

No. There was something so wrong in that concept.

"Are you possessed by anything?" asked Janet. "Did you get hit by a sudden personality-changing ray? Did you eat one too many Twinkies and turn into a business major?" She frowned. "Also, the government does recommend at least thirty minutes of daily exercise, but there are very good reasons for that. Also, I'm nearly out of clean clothes, and if I want to have something clean to wear, I can't go jogging."

"No. No. No. Although a business major is a very good idea. I should really look into that as a career option." Blair said. "Good for you, Ms. Fraiser. I think it's wonderful how versed you are on the government's instructions for our everyday lives. You are a role model for the rest of the students here."
