you might have noticed...that I have been out of touch ...
...since Tuesday, when I was admitted to the Hospital for severe abdominal pain. Turns out I had a classic case of Appendicitis even though the CT scan (both of them) showed nothing abnormal. so I just finished this... I'm pretty proud even though I know it lacks finesse and perfection. This is probably one of my favorite Doctor/Rose moments.

you know you're totally f'd when...
your notebook computer exhibits this flashy-sort of screen that's white with black lines and is actually pretty scary. and you are pretty sure something is wrong with the motherboard connection to the screen because you haven't done anything particularly destructive. and, because it's the way things work for Toshiba, you're going to have to take ( Read more... ) -
I AM A SUPERHERO.
I am a superhero for a few reasons... let me list them for you:
1) I learned some basic Unix today. (har har, I know this isn't a HUGE feat, but it's pretty major in my book).
2) I sat through 2 hours of Lab Safety Training that had absolutely NO relevance to my research lab.

with HARRY POTTER!!! holy crap. will maybe write something later under a proper cut since I know some of my buds haven't finished (or started!!) yet.
All in all, I was not disappointed--and I have to admit I was ready to be. WHOA. -

my MICE TRAPPED. Quick update since LJ was down most of yesterday: we have mice. a lot of them. and it's the construction next door that is making us get them and not food...and it started out as 3 we quickly caught and then nothing until last week and now we have a full-fledged infestation ( Read more... ) -
