500 Prompts Meme (yes, really)

Jan 28, 2013 16:48

Okay, so I may have said I had a keep-writing-ficlets plan. Here it is, flist, and it won't work without you... Believe it or not, btw, this is actually a thing I found out in the wild as a meme:

STEP ONE: Match a pairing/two or more characters/crossover characters to a prompt ( Read more... )

masterlist, meme, 500 prompts

Ehum. Hope these are fine. I always feel self-conscious prompting people stuff.

Liz Shaw - 121
The Rani - 177
Third Doctor - 396

And thus I successfully procrastinated writing my own fic for another ten minutes before going to bed. *Rolls away*

Aw, well, thank you especially, then! And they're all three pretty intriguing. I like them.

Er. Sorry about the procrastination, though! ;-)

I just have this very peculiar fear of being an inconvenience even when people ask for it. Maybe because I tend to be afraid of taking prompts myself, as I worry I can't make them justice. But I'm glad you like them. <3

Aowh, don't be. I used to worry myself sick over it, I've now reached full circle and come out on the other side singing "I don't caaaaare~". Besides, I doubt there's anything in Ancient Greek I don't know that I'll have enough time to beat into my skull in two days. *Shrug*

I can understand that. I love getting prompts from people (as you can see!), but on other people's LJs, or whe they ask for it, it still takes me a little while to get past that "but i'll just be a nuisance, asking for the wrong things..." I expect we're not alone.

Oh, well, good luck with it anyway! :-)

Hmm, what about something involving Amy, Rory, Eleven, and River, for #242? Since it was kind of a four-part Team TARDIS then?

Lots of good prompts there. Tell me if you can make 323 and 342 work for Blake's 7. No particular characters, although if religion ever came up for Avon, perhaps he'd say 323.

I'd love to give you more ideas, but will have to think and come back later.

Ha! 323 sounds exactly like Avon. I added that one in there.

I'm hanging onto the rules for this one though, for once - purely because I know how my brain tends to work and a whole fandom's too wide for a prompt for me, so I do need character(s)/pairing(s). Even if you choose randomly! (A tiny/contained one, like a book or a film or something like that would be okay.) But I can see why you'd land on 342 for B7. It really is very B7, isn't it?

I'd love to have some more from you if you have the time. Thanks. ♥

342... I keep swerving toward Cally for that one. Not sure it's right, exactly, but please try it. :-)

I don't think think there is a right for this sort of thing - it's always just throwing things out there and seeing what comes back. So, yes, I've given you Cally. :-)

Damn, I wish you knew 'Ace of Wands'. Who knew Brian Wilde could be terrifying?

Anyway!
63: The Master DW
120: Villa B7
131: The Dominators DW (you can ignore me here)
162: Strange Report
251: Giles, Buffy.
274: Midnight is a Place, of course(!). Post book/tv?
285: Buffy, Buffy
296: The Brig (B7 cross)
297: Sapphire/Steel
331: Four/Romana
366: Dangerman
374: Silver
425: Jo Grant
427: Cally B7
444: Julius Caesar
466: Poul RoD/Kaldor City
481: Second, Victoria DW

Most of these prompts are good for S&S I think.

Thank you! :-) I'll add them to my list.

Just a couple things, though:

131. I've never yet seen the Dominators! Sorry!
162 - Strange Report - do you mean the main characters (Adam Strange, Evie) or were you thinking David Collings's character?
366 - dangerman (I'm guessing this is to do with my james Maxwell and David Collings are brothers theory?? So I'll keep it in the hope I get to watch it.)
444. Actually Julius Caesar as a character, or did you want Cassius, or Brutus/Cassius, or who...? (It is an absolutely excellent prompt for nearly anyone in the play, though. Lovely.)

Thank you, though! These are lovely. I knew I could rely on you for some random old TV and gratuitous David Collings in the mix. ♥

I jst added them (they're not showing here yet; I'll fix that later) but ♥. You give very good prompts.

Thanks!

For the Strange Report one I thought of the main characters as they are based at Maida Vale.
The Dangerman prompt made me think of David Collings' artist getting into scrapes caused by identity theft. He might need his secret brother James Maxwell to help or not?
444 had to be Julius Ceasar didn't it!? Erm, either Brutus/Cassius or Julius/Wife because Elizabeth Spriggs was ace.
Alas poor Dominators(!).

Yes, random old TV is my middle name:)

And, all right, here's a few more:

42: The First Doctor (DW)
48: Roj Blake (B7)
102: Rory Williams (DW)
178: Doctor/River (DW)
229: Death (Discworld)
254: Vila Restal (B7)
266: Silver (S&S)
290: The TARDIS (DW)

That's probably enough for the moment. And a bit heavy on the Who, but, hey. :)
