Rendering terrain
Something that I've been working on for a while now is the Pioneer terrain rendering.
It's not everyones cup of tea but I've written (badly) two articles trying to explain how the current system works and then I'll be going on to explain how I'm changing it and where it's eventually heading too.

It's a tricky thing getting insured to sail the Atlantic. If you've naively tried to contact the Post Office, whom you've found to be good for travel insurance in the past, then you'll be disappointed by the reply when enquiring regarding transoceanic sailing: No, no way and not possible with any of the extra fee based services. - apparently it's ( Read more... ) -

post-sailing
Sailing was good fun, re-learnt a lot it seemed. The instructor and the crew doing their yachtmasters courses were all really complementary about what I did and how quickly and competently I picked things up. So generally positive ( Read more... ) -

Monumentally Redundant
Well it happened and I'm now one of the staff made redundant at Monumental GamesWeirdly I think I was the one with the biggest smile on my face for most of last nights post-redundancy-pissup. No more Mr SMS
Well I'm a retard.
I have now lost ALL of the SMS messages on my phone, and the backup that was on it too. That's right, I kept the backup on the same fucking device, please see the first line of this post if you're confused as to why I did this.

Yep that's right, I don't post for a month and the first thing you discover upon my return is that I probably smell bad due to technology failure!
So the shower's broken so that's £175 to rectify, oh and we need a PME which is £154. The electrician openly laughed when he saw our consumer unit (fuse box), I knew it needed replacing when the PME ( Read more... ) -
