Matt Smith's beard was one of the creepiest things about this episode. XD

Yes. THIS. All of THIS. This episode left me feel giddy and over the moon. I'm kind of chuffed at the people yelling that the Doctor shouldn't get married. Why shouldn't he marry Rose or River or whoever the hell he feels like? We have seen he's capable of great love, great compassion and passion as well.

Oh, and about the timeline, I think it's Amy post-"God Complex" and she's upset that she wasn't able to stop him from going off to Utah to die.

Yeah exactly. I liked the wedding even if the reasoning behind it doesn't make a lot of sense if you think about it too much. But I can hand wave that for the adorability. The Doctor has been through a lot. He had to give up Rose, why shouldn't he be allowed to have River?

And I think it was really sweet that the Doctor acknowledged Rose and Jack in this episode. They still mean a lot to him, and I think he was also foreshadowing what would happen. After all, Moffat is the one who penned the words, "Just this once, everybody lives!" And Rose and Jack were there. Then look what happened.

The Doctor shouldn't lose everyone the way he got Rose and Donna wrenched away from him. I think otherwise people would grow frustrated and disenchanted with the series. I think that at its heart, Doctor Who is a fairy tale. He slays the monster and gets the girl. That's so Disney ... yet it's awesome.

Yeah exactly. The Doctor has faced SO much loss and he's had so many people go from his life forever. I think it's nice that he gets to have some happiness. That's one of the things I feel saddest about in terms of the Doctor's storyline - he always comes back to being the lonely God. It's nice that for once he doesn't have to.

Ah, but they didn't say it was the wedding of The Doctor, did they? Does it count if it's just a stand in for the little bloke inside? I'd like it to count, but really?

And I'm sure I once read that his name had 39 syllables, so I guess he must tell her it some other time.

The blue head in a box struck me as being very Futurama. I'd love to have an episode with Nixon on the TARDIS console asking why he wasn't warned about taping everything.

I eagerly await an announcement that Matt is to be the next Indiana Jones. He's got a whole year free now, and SM ows Spielberg one. Also Matt+Fedora = Love.

Well no, they didn't but I don't know, I still think it counts - he's inside the robot so he's controlling it the whole time, even if it's not his physical body.

I haven't seen Futurama so I don't know the connection but I shall trust you on that.

LOL @ the idea of Matt Smith in Indiana Jones. Not sure how I feel about that to be honest but he does look decent in hats!

1) Yes! Kind of one of my favourite parts of the whole thing. I love any kind of alternate reality (best of what we're watching now too) just to see what fun things they'll throw in.
9) I still don't understand why they had to get married though.
12) I totally thought that about the flesh as soon as it was in that episode too, all "well that's a bit of a cop out, of course they can use that". And I suppose this way is a cop out in the same way, but is the reasoning that it would work when the flesh didn't because he IS actually there? I mean would time not recognise the event if he wasn't in the right place or whatever? I don't know enough about it to speculate more then that, but it seems to make (Dr Whoish) sense.
13) <3

1) Exactly. That's the fun thing about Alternate Realities. TBH I think I liked the AU in this ep more than in Age of Steel. It was prettier. Actually I guess it was kinda steampunky.
9) Yeah I don't get that either. And I guess maybe because it was actually the Robot version of the Doctor it doesn't really count? IDK, I think it's one of those things I will have to/can handwave.
12) Yeah I suspected the Flesh from then also but there are issues with that and personally I just like the Robo-impersonators better (I know they have a proper name but I forget what it is) and like you said, it means the Doctor is actually present at the event so it makes it a bit less of a cop out although I agree it kinda is one. But Moffat seems like doing that - S5 had a bit of that also as I recall so I don't let myself get too bothered by it.
13) Yes! So much ♥ I really hope we get more River interacting with her parents next season because I'm in love with all aspects of it!

For some bizarre reason, I was TOTALLY surprised that it was the robot that died!!!! I laughed at myself because REALLY it was quite obvious!

I really loved the shout out/remembrance of the Brigadier's passing back in February. I thought that was a very sweet thing for them to included.

I also loved Amy's badassness and ruthlessness towards the Silence - was sorta proud of her!

Loved how the Silence commented on Rory always dying - but Rory is SO awesome!!! All that dying turned out to be a great thing for him!

I also really loved how the Doctor and River had a handfasting ceremony - they're my favourite kind of wedding ceremony/ritual.

I also thought the skulls weren't as scary as they could have been - when they devoured the Viking-liked guy it just looked ridiculous!

River and Amy are a very cute mother/daughter combo.

I thought the question would have been "why?" because it's such a simple question. I was close eh, I knew it was one of the five W's! bahahaha

Yeah I was surprised by the robot also. It just never occurred to me that it would be an option.

Yeah that was a nice shout out. It was sweet.

Amy has more reason than most to be pissed at the Silence and I was really glad it was her who gave them what for. She actually reminded me a bit of her daughter there. :)

The handfasting was cool. I love how Eleven just kinda forced her into it and everyone was like WTF is going on? It amused me. (although probably says something once again about the Doctor taking away people's choices. I suppose she did make it clear she loved him just before though so IDK)

I agree the skulls were laughable. We all laughed when they devoured the Viking-like guy also.
