Today I fetched poo from the farm.  That makes me very happy.  I filled a couple small buckets with cow poo to add to my first batch of pre-compost stuff.  Very exciting!  I also got about half the leaves from the backyard at the new place bagged so I can keep them for future batches.  I've already got a good five bags, so I'm betting that I'll ( Read more... )

Surviving!  Friday was an 8-4 out of (either) town clinical day during which I learned to read/interpret cardiac rhythm strips.  Good stuff, but very hard to sit there for 7 hours trying to learn it.  Saturday and yesterday were 7A-7P shifts on the ICU step-down unit.  Usually I've been on the actual ICU, but this was interesting too.  More ( Read more... )

So my niece has Strep. throat.  And apparently the trees here are on E and all sexed up.  As a consequence of at least one of those, my throat hurts like a motherfucker.  I'm hoping it's the latter so that I can give it a couple days and it will be better, but I am less than optimistic about all this.  I see a potential hospital visit in my future ( Read more... )
