I was in line at SuperTarget, and I got in line behind this woman, her husband, and her four kids. They had a lot of stuff (looked like two full carts' worth) up on the belt. Actually, given the way that system tends to be funded (income and property taxes) you are shouldering some of the smallest bits.

You could always come back here, where we see your wage and say it's worthy of food stamps, instead of Florida...

Oh, this was no doubt a 100% home-grown redneck.

I just don't think we should encourage them to breed. It's like letting someone piss into the genepool.

We should curb all forms of waste in social aid programs. I just think that it should be a higher priority to stop the poor from breeding more welfare babies, THEN we can go after other drains on the system.

You can't stop waste by throwing money at it. You stop it by making difficult policy changes.

Which elected officials won't do, since doing the right (if unpopular) thing won't get them reelected.
