I don't usually work Friday close shifts. But I did tonight. Good lord, it was insane. There was a much much higher ratio of people I had to turn away for lack or proof of age, and plenty of irritable pricks ( Read more... )

Yep.

So many stupid people, the mind boggles. I can't even begin to count the times I've been asked "how much is this?" when there's a clearly marked price tag right below it.

I once got stuck behind a man (who was just barely 21) in a liquor store who decided to be $75 worth of beer and tequila, and then paid all in ones and quarters. So, I also thank those end of the night people, for not being jackasses and blocking the line!

Don't forget the other extreme... trying to pay for a piddly purchase with a large bill. A fucking Black & Mild with a $100 bill? I think not.

Haha, yeah. I don't see the issue too much. I mean, we get $100 bills for $3.75 tickets, but we almost always have enough change around that it's just not a big deal.

I'm sure you also don't have a debit card setup that allows people to get $40 cash back.

And being able to keep 20s in your registers must help.
