Crazy apocalyptic-type weather! Thunder! Lightning! Hail stones just a bit smaller than golf balls! And broken windows!

Oh yes, property damage-causing weather! Fun times!

The windows in my sister's room that took the full brunt of the wind and hail did not survive the assault - one is cracked, and the other actually broke and bits are missing. We ( Read more... )

Home again... and the weekend's just vanished.

Didn't help that the flight home got cancelled on Saturday, so I had to wait two hours for the next one. (Luckily I had a book.) Pretty much headed straight out to the kennels to pick up the prince and then sat around for a little bit before unpacking, doing grocery shopping and laundry.

I dropped Basil off at the kennels earlier this afternoon. He's such a good boy - jumped straight into the car and lay down on the back seat the whole way. I remember when he used to be a restless ball of energy in the car, clambering from window to window and panting like a steam engine.

So, Basil and I have been hanging out in what is now a very quiet, empty house. I've been working through my lists of errands (they multiply - every time I cross one item off, another five sprout in its place), mostly because it keeps my mind off how lonely it is. Today has been a fairly nothingy day - I had planned to go out and do some shopping for a decent work wardrobe, but when I arrived at the empty train station I found that only buses were running due to track work this weekend.

Since it was kind of hot and I didn't really want to do a shopping expedition, I went home again.
