Hold on

Home again... and the weekend's just vanished.

Didn't help that the flight home got cancelled on Saturday, so I had to wait two hours for the next one. (Luckily I had a book.) Pretty much headed straight out to the kennels to pick up the prince and then sat around for a little bit before unpacking, doing grocery shopping and laundry.

Today I put clothes out to dry, then put them away again, ironed clothes for the week, walked Basil, assembled a moussaka so I don't have to cook for a while - just need to make the beschamel sauce and throw it in the oven and it'll be done.

Oh yes, forgot to check the rice cooker before I left, so I got to toss out a lovely little collection of mould. Have scrubbed the cooker three times since, and poured in boiling water a couple of times, and still feel kind of icky when I think of it. I've tossed a few other things since coming home but that was the worst by far. So, a moderate success.

Basil seems to have lost a little weight, and has become pretty demanding about what time he gets fed - he started licking at a spot on the floor where his meat had dribbled a little juice in the morning (yes, gross) by 6pm so I have to pay attention to what time it is.

The induction week itself was pretty interesting. It got fairly intense when we started getting exercises to complete in the different sessions held by the various departments - at first they were quick things to do within the session and then be done with, then they got harder and harder and now we've actually got some research we have to get done by this week. I felt myself getting more and more sluggish and getting less and less coherent as the days went on, especially on Thursday and Friday.

I like the other graduates, and it was pretty great getting to know them. It didn't hurt that they were fairly attractive, intelligent people either. ;-)

I should actually go sleep considering I may have to take the princeling for a walk before work, so I will continue this another time.

wolfram & hart, prince basil, science is delicious, linkies
