I'm still really enjoying this story and your exploration of how not being raised by Sirius would have affected Harry, as well as how being a Gryffindor rather than a Slytherin will affect the situation. As I think I said before, most of the time authors like to explore how being a Slytherin or better trained in wizarding culture would have changed things--and usually these changes make things easier for Harry. I enjoy those stories, but because there are so many of them, I think this will be very refreshing and thought provoking. And it took Severus long enough to figure out that this Harry was intelligent. ;-)

Thank you! It's interesting to write a story where it's everyone else's perspective on Canon Harry that's different, rather than Harry's perspective on everyone else (although both things are true of this story, really, but the second part is less important).

Well, it helped that Severus knew the other Harry was intelligent, but he had heard "Gryffindor" and let that shut part of his brain down. :)

Thank you! I really enjoyed writing this chapter, too, especially since I could focus on just the two of them.

I wish I could think of more Snape-Harry gen stories. Then I'd write more of them.

I absolutely just loved this chapter. This story has just been amazing so far. I would still be pissed if I was Harry too. To know that you were Harry #4 and noone seemed to really care if you lived or died, only that you needed to defeat the Dark Lord. I liked how he is not quite sure on Sirius and doesn't immediately trust him either. so looking forward to the next chapter.

On another note, what is your secret to keeping all your stories straight? I am still working through some of your other ones, and find it mind blowing you seem to be able to work on so many at one. I need to figure out your secret lol.

Thank you!

Harry actually is eager to trust Sirius, but there's just too much that's different. Plus, Sirius is part of the kidnapping team, too.

Two secrets: 1) Practice. I've been doing it for a long time. 2) Writing them at separate times- like working on one during the morning, another during the afternoon- so they don't blend. And it's not perfect. I do sometimes still mess up which part goes with which story and need to reread.

I'm still indignant on Harry's behalf, but the (relative) calmness of this chapter was a welcome relief. Am glad Snape thawed pretty quick, I was starting to really worry for Harry. Dumbledore on the other hand, is yet to make any sense. Is he just too confident with his plans that he won't consider he's wrong, or does he have a deus ex machina plan up his sleeve? I like the contrasting pov - it's interesting to see what Harry and Snape both got right and wrong about each other. There's so many little tidbits I love in this chapter, I can't possibly list them all. :D

Thank you! Yeah, I thought it would be good if he could deal with just one person here and not the cluster he feels such conflicting feelings toward.

Snape and Harry do not really understand Dumbledore yet, so it's going to be a while before he makes sense.

Glad for that final vow here. I obviously cannot blame Harry for being so distrustful, and I like that Harry is surprising this Snape, especially with how much harder this Harry must seem and how much more battle ready he is. I look forward to seeing Harry's reactions as he encounters the Weasleys and more of Draco.

Great chapter.

Thank you!

Harry talks more with his friends and Draco in the next chapter; not sure about the rest of the Weasleys yet.
