SOOOO EXCITED! needskerries December 26 2009, 20:45:43 UTC
Malin leaned back in the armchair which she had dragged all the way from the other side of the living room to the window. She was absolutely exhausted; she had practically lived at the hospital these last few weeks. She had only come home to sleep and eat occasionally and went back to work again. A lot of people seemed to be sick with cold, so she had to fill in for several nurses at the same time. Relaxing a bit seemed like a good idea right now. It was New Year's Eve, too, which gave her a good reason to lie down for a while and just enjoy her time without Tino ( ... )

The sweet smell that enfolded Tino immediately after he stepped inside was one of which forced many memories to the surface from within him. Blurry pictures of cramped flats with him laying on the couch, drunk out of his head and people smoking inside, the air full of smoke that smelled nothing like the normal tobacco. It had taken a while until he had connected the dots and found out that his friends had been smoking weed at those times, even though after he questioned them about it afterwards, it appeared that luckily he hasn't ever done it himself ( ... )

Malin's eyes opened wide and she let out a quiet yelp, almost dropping the joint she was holding between the fingers of her right hand. Tino's voice had completely surprised her, she hadn't heard him coming home. She had assumed he would be out partying and having fun since it was New Year's Eve and such, but apparently the man didn't have as many friends as she had thought. Malin's neck clicked as she quickly turned around to take a look at Tino, and she raised her left hand to rub the back of her neck slowly ( ... )

"Malin..." Tino breathed out again, taking another step closer. "You..."

He wasn't sure what to say. As if this scene wasn't shocking enough for him already, Malin's reaction had caught him off guard as well. It would've been actually kind of comforting if she had jumped up, cursed some and said something like "What the hell are you sneaking up to me like that for?!". But no, she just sat there and looked at him with half lidded eyes, humming and blowing the smoke at his face.Waving his hand in front of his face to get rid of the smoke, Tino warily sat down on the little stool next to the armchair and licked his dry lips, head full of thoughts going left and right and crashing with each other until only a pig pile of useless mush was left and Tino still didn't know what to do next. The thought of calling a police was dismissed as soon as he thought about it, since he didn't want to cause any trouble for Malin, and that call would probably end up making her lose her job, so that was a no-no. And now she was talking about ceilings and ( ... )

I know. I'm a selfish bastard. find_a_fin December 30 2009, 17:03:38 UTC
Crouching down to take his glass of champagne from the floor, Tino took a sip and looked at Malin a bit worriedly. "Are you okay..? And oh, no..!" He laughed nervously at her frown and walked past her to the kitchen doorway. "There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that I'm not. I mean, your cousin is gay and I'm his friend so how could I think there was something wrong with that..?" Now that he was this far away from Malin, the alcohol suddenly activated it's relaxing powers again and he threw the towel in the sink, leaning to the wall and turning the glass in his hands.

And does it matter if I like what I see? "...And nothing." Checking his watch mainly to hide his face, Tino noticed it was only about a half an hour till midnight and he walked to the stereos, sitting down on the floor and starting to shuffle through his own CD's. "I don't think you'd go to hell because of that." Glancing behind his shoulder and taking out Metallica's Black Album, he put the CD in the player. He had learned that even if girls didn't agree with ( ... )

Berwald was gay? Malin looked at Tino with surprise, and then frowned even more. Had her cousin ever mentioned that? She tried to remember all their conversations, but they hadn't had that many - they were both busy with their lives, Malin even busier than Berwald. Berwald could have told her indirectly, but she probably hadn't understood, it had slipped her ears or she had been ignoring him at the time. Or it could be that Berwald hadn't told her at all and this was a sign of distrust.

"Ah, I see," she said, still a bit taken aback with this sudden information. Not that she had any problem with it - how could she? - but it had been a surprise. "Wait, how do you know about Berwald's sexual orientation? I thought you hadn't known him for a long time."

She glanced at the champagne glass on the coffee table and shook her head. She wasn't feeling like having any more alcohol tonight. "No, you can drink it away. I'm not a big fan of champagne."

Freezing, Tino stared at the stereo in front of him as the song begun and suddenly his thoughts went from Oops to Oh crap to THINK!

Why on earth did Malin have to get stuck on that? "Uhh... He told me?" trying to laugh, Tino quickly started to arrange his CD's nervously. Being drunk did have some downsides to it, like how lying became so much harder to do when you had taken few. And Tino had taken a lot more than a few.

It wasn't like he was ashamed of it he kind of was, but it was something he rather not told anyone about. And it wasn't just because of himself, he imagined that Berwald would probably feel even more embarrassed than he did if many people knew about that little incident between them. That way it could be more easily forgotten, right?

Malin stared at Tino's neck and walked a bit closer to him to get a good view of his face. It didn't sound like Tino was telling the truth, and he seemed nervous. Malin peeked at the man's face and narrowed her eyes suspiciously, ignoring the fact that she often creeped out people like that.

"Berwald is not the kind of guy to tell people he's just met, I think," she said, crossing her arms over her chest and tapping her foot against the floor impatiently. "I wasn't even curious before, but now I am. Spill it. This is my cousin we're talking about. I want to know if something has happened that concerns him."

She put her hand down on the CDs Tino was trying to arrange so that the man couldn't focus on anything else but her. "How about you arrange those CDs when you're sober and have more time. Now, answer me. How do you know?"
