Crouching down to take his glass of champagne from the floor, Tino took a sip and looked at Malin a bit worriedly. "Are you okay..? And oh, no..!" He laughed nervously at her frown and walked past her to the kitchen doorway. "There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that I'm not. I mean, your cousin is gay and I'm his friend so how could I think there was something wrong with that..?" Now that he was this far away from Malin, the alcohol suddenly activated it's relaxing powers again and he threw the towel in the sink, leaning to the wall and turning the glass in his hands.
And does it matter if I like what I see? "...And nothing." Checking his watch mainly to hide his face, Tino noticed it was only about a half an hour till midnight and he walked to the stereos, sitting down on the floor and starting to shuffle through his own CD's. "I don't think you'd go to hell because of that." Glancing behind his shoulder and taking out Metallica's Black Album, he put the CD in the player. He had learned that even if girls didn't agree with the metal genre, Nothing Else Matters was something they all seemed to like.
"Aren't you going to drink that?" He pointed at Malin's untouched glass of champagne on the coffee table.
Berwald was gay? Malin looked at Tino with surprise, and then frowned even more. Had her cousin ever mentioned that? She tried to remember all their conversations, but they hadn't had that many - they were both busy with their lives, Malin even busier than Berwald. Berwald could have told her indirectly, but she probably hadn't understood, it had slipped her ears or she had been ignoring him at the time. Or it could be that Berwald hadn't told her at all and this was a sign of distrust.
"Ah, I see," she said, still a bit taken aback with this sudden information. Not that she had any problem with it - how could she? - but it had been a surprise. "Wait, how do you know about Berwald's sexual orientation? I thought you hadn't known him for a long time."
She glanced at the champagne glass on the coffee table and shook her head. She wasn't feeling like having any more alcohol tonight. "No, you can drink it away. I'm not a big fan of champagne."
Freezing, Tino stared at the stereo in front of him as the song begun and suddenly his thoughts went from Oops to Oh crap to THINK!
Why on earth did Malin have to get stuck on that? "Uhh... He told me?" trying to laugh, Tino quickly started to arrange his CD's nervously. Being drunk did have some downsides to it, like how lying became so much harder to do when you had taken few. And Tino had taken a lot more than a few.
It wasn't like he was ashamed of it he kind of was, but it was something he rather not told anyone about. And it wasn't just because of himself, he imagined that Berwald would probably feel even more embarrassed than he did if many people knew about that little incident between them. That way it could be more easily forgotten, right?

Malin stared at Tino's neck and walked a bit closer to him to get a good view of his face. It didn't sound like Tino was telling the truth, and he seemed nervous. Malin peeked at the man's face and narrowed her eyes suspiciously, ignoring the fact that she often creeped out people like that.
"Berwald is not the kind of guy to tell people he's just met, I think," she said, crossing her arms over her chest and tapping her foot against the floor impatiently. "I wasn't even curious before, but now I am. Spill it. This is my cousin we're talking about. I want to know if something has happened that concerns him."
She put her hand down on the CDs Tino was trying to arrange so that the man couldn't focus on anything else but her. "How about you arrange those CDs when you're sober and have more time. Now, answer me. How do you know?"
Gulping, Tino turned to look at her and tried to look focused, feeling his concentration slip away with the alcohol. "We've known since summer, it's not... it's not THAT long, but why wouldn't I know..?" Aaaah what should I do...
Turning to look away again, he licked his dry lips nervously and inhaled deeply. "Nothing HAPPENED..." He pulled his hands down and started to pick on the carpet. "...he just told me. Really." Or I figured it out after he... Feeling his ears turn red again, Tino cursed in his mind and stood up, turning to face away from Malin. "Excuse me!" Bathroom! I'll be safe there!
He started to walk quickly towards the promised safe haven with a lock on the door and tried to keep himself from falling or crashing against the walls, which was pretty challenging in his state.
Drunk people. So annoying and, to be honest, they made Malin feel sorry for them. She couldn't understand why anyone would want to drink themselves into oblivion and then suffer from a terrible hangover the next morning. What was the logic in that?
Besides... it made Malin immensely jealous that Tino Väinämöinen of all people had known her cousin longer than she had. Of course they had met when they were still children, but that was so long ago and one couldn't really call that knowing someone. Malin glared at Tino's retreating form - he seemed to have some trouble with staying upright, but she couldn't really care right now.
"Fine," she snapped, marching towards her bedroom. "Don't tell me, then. I'm going to ask Berwald about it, and I'll make sure that I mention you slipped something about it. I'll go to sleep now. Good night, and hope you have fun with your drunken self."
Finally reaching the bathroom door, Tino leaned against it and grabbed the doorhandle, feeling slightly dizzy in the head when he heard Malin walk behind him, obviously in much better condition than him. The drug wore off..?
Gulping at what Malin said, the Finn almost opened his mouth to say something "to stop her", but realized it would be useless and sighed instead, hanging his head and swaying a bit. "..It's almost midnight and you go to sleep..?" Is this my fault? He was just about to ask her to stay at least till midnight when she mentioned him being drunk and he decided not to. What's wrong with being drunk..?
Letting go of the bathroom door, he slowly dragged himself back to the livingroom, not even looking at Malin and stopped in the doorway, looking around. The stereo was still playing Metallica pretty loudly, but he decided to let it be. If Malin got irritated by it, he was sure she'd come back to turn it off herself. Stumbling through the room to the armchair by the window, he sunk down in it, reaching for Malin's glass and emptying it in one go, leaning back and exhaling slowly, looking up at the sky. The amount of fireworks had doubled from before, and Tino couldn't help but feel a little bit better even though Malin had almost destroyed his mood. Lifting his glass, he tilted his head a bit and smiled.
