You are Raivis's WHAT? FATHER IN LAW? >:<man_nav_naudasNovember 24 2009, 17:43:42 UTC
Roughly point two seconds later, Berwald's fingertip still well acquainted with the trigger, he found himself meeting the gaze of a man who almost matched his height, a dour faced stranger whose pale violet eyes were squinted with suspicion, his thin lips pressed into what seemed like- if the lines on his face were an accurate indication- a perpetual scowl. "I am sorry, but we do not know the whereabouts of Mister Kalcane. Kindly leave this dwelling and have a nice day."
They stared at one another.
Wrong room? Could have been but-
The man, if Berwald blurred his vision just enough, had an odd familiarity to his presence. His stilted speech had a rhythm to it he knew he'd heard before. Stuttering apologies when Raivis was too apprehensive to smooth out his accent-
"I am sorry-" Was being repeated, "But Mister Kalcane is not here, please to be leaving."

After squinting at this stranger in shock for a moment, Berwald blinked and gathered up his resolve again.
"This ain't Raivis' place th'n?" he asked, before remembering all that sir-ing Raivis was always doing. Maybe it was a culture thing and he shouldn't be calling the Latvian by first name...at least to this guy, whoever he was. "Mean, uh, Mr Galante?"
Then Berwald squinted some more at the other guy. Was this that Rihard guy Raivis had mentioned in his message? A relative? He'd better not be hurting Raivis or...

"'s ok," Berwald grunted, glancing after Raivis' cousin. After having seen him and Raivis together, he was reasonably sure he was...ok as well. Raivis didn't seem afraid of him. In fact, he'd seemed calmer than Berwald had often seen him. Maybe it was the family thing. The good kind of family thing.
"Nice off yer family t' visit," Berwald mumbled quietly.
Before taking Raivis' invitation, Berwald looked at him more thoroughly. He didn't seem too badly hurt, except for his arm. Though obviously that was bad too. Berwald still remembered very well how awkward it was to not be able to use one's arms properly. After the scrutiny, he followed the Latvian inside.
"So, what happened?" Berwald asked, nodding towards the other's broken arm.
