WHO: Emi and Elizaveta WHEN: Monday, November 7th, noon WHERE: The Mall WHAT: In between snooping around for a new winter jacket, Elizaveta sees a familiar face.
Emi supposed there were some drawbacks to being a bit too frugal sometimes. But the faint disappointment she would often feel upon realizing she couldn't do certain things, buy as heedlessly as others, or travel too often tended to be quickly subdued by Emi assuring herself that it was okay because, really, she needed to pinch all the pennies she could - especially now that it was just John and herself sharing an apartment. Raised rent, tuition, and an okay paying job weren't enough. And after that gigantic splurge that had been her one month trip across North America with Jared, Emi realized that she had to be even more careful of how she spent her money

Emiliana? Ah, at least she had been close. Laughing a little, Elizaveta nodded. "It was a short introduction, wasn't it? I did get a good impression of you though!" Tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear, she held out her hand. "How about a do over? As mentioned before, I'm Elizaveta. I'm in a bit of a money pinch right now, I poke my nose in other people's businesses, I own a gay bar and I currently date one Gilbert Beilschmidt."
She wrinkled her nose, "Listing it all out, it seems like a my life is just a bunch of bad mistakes." Elizaveta laughed again, a blush covering her cheeks. "Really though, it's a pleasure to meet you (again)."
Looking around, she sighed. "And please tell me that you are also here to cry, because I always seem to forget how terrifying winter jacket prices are."

Temporarily thrown off, Emi suddenly laughed as she shook her head, lips still pulled into a now more relaxed smile. "If that's how we're doing things," she began, raising an eyebrow. "You can call me Emi. I'm...in a similar situation myself. I'm a grad student with a horrible job as a waitress. I had a friend that worked as a bartender at a gay bar, actually- Oh, and if we're talking about love lives, I guess I'm recently single and...can't help but go, Gilbert? Really?" Tilting her head at the other woman, the sheepish expression came back to her face.
"Pues, okay, that was supposed to be more surprised than rude, I swear," holding her hands up briefly, Emi suddenly sighed once again. "No, I am. I don't like how cold it gets here and my coat is turning into shit now," she explained bitterly. "So I came to buy a new one and maybe some other essentials, pero..." She tossed another mopey expression toward the too-expensive-pea coat at the window display of some horribly pretentious storefront.

"A friend that worked a gay bar? Oh, who was it? I might know him!" Elizaveta smiled, and then turned slightly pink as she laughed, "And yes... Gilbert. A lot of people were surprised I guess, but I don't know, he just feels right. Even if he's one of the biggest dorks I know."
Waving her hand dismissively, Elizaveta rolled her eyes, "I understand you completely. I mean like, is this really what they think is affordable? Even if you put something like that on clearance, I still wouldn't be able to buy it without eating for a week." Brightening up, she grinned at the other girl. "Hey, since we're both looking for jackets, do you want to walk around together? Not that you have to, or anything but... I guess I'm feeling a little lonely and want some company."
