It was rather chilly outside. Even huddled down in her new trench coat and neck buried in her scarf she couldn't help wanting to be inside. But Lyndsey had wanted to go for a walk and well... She honestly wasn't in the mood to fight his curious desires tonight anyway. Her gut was still uneasy, her request to Attis poisoning her mind and making her unable to fully focus on the small, odd smile that Lyn was giving her.

They're sweet, not as sweet at you though.

Marianne blinked, looking up at the Scot and unable to keep from giving a small laugh. "Oh Lyn," she giggled behind her coffee cup, taking a small sip as well and shaking her head. This is why she fell for him all those years ago. Not for his suave nature, not for his smooth talk- hell, all of those things were opposite of Lyn's nature ( ... )

Spluttering his coffee as the elbow against his rib, Lyndsey looked over at Marianne, already going red from embarrassment. "As long as you enjoy it." he mumbled, wrapping his arm around her and glad that she appreciated that very bad line. She always did though, each and every time they came stumbling out of his mouth. He laughed softly at her complaint about the temperature. He always prepared colder and wetter weather, not even his time in...

Closing his eyes, he tried to push that particular train of thought out of his mind, knowing that it wouldn't stray far really. "Annie..." He paused, throwing his half drank coffee into a bin and sticking his hand into the pocket, making sure that the red box was still there. Grasping at her hand, he kissed it before letting it go. "There's something I really what to ask you but I need to tell you something first. The war, it's still going on...in here ah me'n" He said, tapping at his head. "Still haven't escaped it, why ah donnae really stay at y'urs. Ah j'st wanna make shure that ye donnae ( ... )

Asking... a question?

Marianne felt her heart flutter and with a quick bite she finished the last of her small snack and tossed her almost-full cup of coffee away too. Other matters needed attending to! She grabbed his hand with both of her own and looked up at him with bright blue eyes. "Ah... it would, probably be a good time for, opening up, oui?" she breathed out quietly. "Before any- questions. Ah-! You know you can tell me anything Lyn, cherant. Mon coeur, je t'aime."

Her heart felt like it was going to beat right out of her chest, and she couldn't help holding his hand a little tighter. "Talk to me Lyn... You know it has bothered me forever why you 'aven't stayed over..."

"Ay- Oui." The French word sounded awkward with his accent but it seemed only fair since Marianne was practically always expected to speak English round him, unless she wanted everything to be 'une jupe rose'.

Taking a deep breath, Lyndsey placed his free hand on top of hers. "Ah...Ah get nightmares. Fr'm whit happened there, that aint gonna leave meh any time soon." He took another deep breath, remembering all the times he had gone through this spiel at group meetings. Ivana had been the only one to really listen to him at any of those sessions he attended, probably why they're still in contact. "A-Ah am gettin' better but...it still happ'ns, like this morning." A weak smile was on his lips, glad to finally get that off his chest for her. Kissing her gently, he took a step back. "Y-ye donna mind...r-right?"

His hand was in the jacket pocket again, checking on the ring.
