Yes, she was probably going to die of embarrasment. Remy hadn't thought a feeling like that was possible for a girl who'd spent most of her life running around in bikinis. She could remember times when certain bits of her had popped out of said bikinis that weren't half as embarrassing as Thera telling her - and everyone else in the store - how perky those particular bits were.

"I surf..." She stammered a little, trying to defend some part of her body from this crazy woman. (Honestly, of course she shaved. She'd re-shaved this morning, in addition to her usual shaving in the shower, just because she knew she'd probably be showing her legs to the most judgemental person she'd ever met.) "Most of us get knee knots." She tried to shrug as though it was no big deal - and with anyone else, it wasn't. Her knees had calcium deposits from kneeling on a hard board, so what? - but couldn't quite manage the nonchalance she'd been aiming for ( ... )

"Oh, no reason to get self-conscious, love, I'm a model after all." Thera straightened and brushed at Remy's hip, smoothing the fabric over her. "No, no, this just wont do. Evelynn-?" of course she knew all the employees by first name, "Could you look for this in pink, please?- You'll look darling in pink, Remy. It's a shame I never see you in it."

For all the critique Remy was getting, Thera did seem to mean it in all honesty as helpful. In a way, the woman seemed strangely nicer than Remy was used to. No- not nicer. Caring. "Moon simply won't be able to resist you. You'll have a wonderful holiday."

Other than the vague impression of the words 'Moon' and 'darling,' Remy had no idea what she said after that one terrifying word.

"...P-pink?" There was a reason Thera never saw her in it; she hated pink. And she hated the way she looked in pink. She only wore it when her grandmother forgot which grandchild she was and bought her something pink for her birthday, or Christmas. Even then, she wore it the minimum ammount of times she could get away with and not hurt Grandma's feelings. Luckily, it happened less now than when she was little, and she wasn't forced into goofy, frilly pink dresses every Sunday. She'd thought that now that she was away from the islands, she could get away with not wearing pink at all, and just saying she'd worn Grandma's Christmas present.

"Of course! Oh- Evelynn, that is perfect."

Cotton. Candy. Pink.

With a bit of lace trim.

Thera placed it over Remy and nodded. "Yes, yes, try this on, Remy. You'll be surprised at how good you look."

Dear Lord it looked just like that awful, itchy thing she'd gotten for her sixth birthday. (and honestly, given the length, it probably took about the same amount of fabric to make.)

"Thera... I'm really just not a big fan of pink. At all."
