WHO: Thera and Remy
WHEN: Friday, December 10
WHERE: Gallivanting among several shops with extremely expensive good-looking clothing.
WHAT: When Thera said she'd take Remy out shopping for clothing to wear to New York, Remy's worst fashion fears are realized...

Commence tag: island girls have nice coconuts )
For all the critique Remy was getting, Thera did seem to mean it in all honesty as helpful. In a way, the woman seemed strangely nicer than Remy was used to. No- not nicer. Caring. "Moon simply won't be able to resist you. You'll have a wonderful holiday."

"...P-pink?" There was a reason Thera never saw her in it; she hated pink. And she hated the way she looked in pink. She only wore it when her grandmother forgot which grandchild she was and bought her something pink for her birthday, or Christmas. Even then, she wore it the minimum ammount of times she could get away with and not hurt Grandma's feelings. Luckily, it happened less now than when she was little, and she wasn't forced into goofy, frilly pink dresses every Sunday. She'd thought that now that she was away from the islands, she could get away with not wearing pink at all, and just saying she'd worn Grandma's Christmas present.

Cotton. Candy. Pink.
With a bit of lace trim.
Thera placed it over Remy and nodded. "Yes, yes, try this on, Remy. You'll be surprised at how good you look."

"Thera... I'm really just not a big fan of pink. At all."

She looked so...hopeful.

She grumbled a little, taking the dress. "I'll try it on. But that doesn't mean I'm agreeing to wear it for more than five minutes, okay?"

When she opened the dressing room door again, Thera's hands went to lips. "Don't you look darling." Thera raced over to coo over the dress. The woman tugged at the sleeves so that they settled just so. "And you're telling me you don't like this?"

Remy rolled her eyes a little bit. "I just don't like pink. It doesn't really matter how cute it is, it's still pink. It'd be the same if it was... fluorescent orange or something." She figured that color would bring up images of crossing-guards and traffic cones, horrifying Thera just a little, to give the woman a glimpse into her feelings about the color pink.
"How about red?" She figured her only way out of this was to compromise. "It's sort of like pink, and I don't hate it. Win-win, right?"

Yikes.
'Just-' a huff '-wrap the pink one up instead, then. It looks better on her anyway. Bring us a couple sets of that outfit there- yes, with the fur trim. Does it have a matching hat? Brilliant.'
The dressing room door swung open and Remy couldn't help the squeal and instantly attempt to cover herself. "Here," Thera held a skirt, turtleneck, and vest aloft. She noticed Remy's self-conscious attempts to cover herself and Thera sighed, pulling the dressing room door shut behind her. "It's nothing I haven't seen before. Try this. The vertical stripes will do well for you."

"Thera, I'd never wear it." Her voice was muffled as she pulled the sweater over her head.

She sort of ignored the whole spa business, knowing it'd only make her nervous the more she thought about it. But she couldn't help but smile whenever the conversation turned to Moon, even if she didn't really know the answer.
"Umm..." She thought for a second, trying to pin down some specific day or moment when she'd known she was flirting. "Hard to say, really. It was so gradual..." She shrugged. "We've been dating since my birthday, but a lot of people thought we were together way before that." Thanks to a certain painting....
