Title: Witch Zombie Now?
Rating: K+ for language
Series: Jones
Characters: May Lind; Chris Ridge-Cookie; Parker Jones
Prompt: 100 themes - 025 - Trouble Lurking
Claimer: Mostly mine. But shared with SuperSpecialAwesome!Lori.
Authors Note: This. This was way too fun. Dialouge only, and a more solid introduction of May Lind, who is quite easily my favourite character.

“She’s a witch, Chris.”

“So? It hardly matters now, does it.”

“Chris-think! She’s a witch. She’s a seer. She... She was dead!”

“Parker, I’ve already told you: it hardly matters now. Does it?”

“Chris-”

“Just answer me.”

“Does it matter!? Chris, she was dead.”

“But why does that matter?”

“Look, she’s not natural, all right? She should still be dead. Or she should be a ghost, at least. She should not be a walking, talking, eating, breathing-”

“Perfectly functioning human being?”

“Exactly! It just screams... What’s the right word?”

“Dark influence?”

“No, that’s not it.”

“Dangerous?”

“Close... God, what’s the word I want? Oh, I’ve got it-trouble. She just screams trouble.”

“Parker, don’t you think you’re being a little paranoid?”

“No.”

“Are you sure about that?”

“Look, Chrissy-how long have we known each other?”

“Since we were seven.”

“Exactly. That’s thirteen years now, and that’s one hell of a long time. And after that long, I’ve got one question for you. Do you trust me?”

“Parker, I don’t see what this has to do with-”

“Just humour me; do you trust me?”

“Of course I do! You know I do. I’d trust you with my life. Stanley’s life, even.”

“Then please, Chrissy; trust me now. She’s trouble, and she’ll only bring us trouble, and we don’t need any more of that. We aqquire enough on our own.”

“Okay, okay. I’ll trust you on this.”

“Good. Thank you. Now that’s settled, do you want to be the one to tell her?”

“Sure-Hey! May!”

“You guys have finished arguing have you?”

“Yep.”

“Made a decision?”

“Yep.”

“And it is...?”

“You can stay!”

“Chris! What the-! That’s not what we agreed!”

“Really? Thank you so much! Can I hug you?”

“Christopher, don’t you dare ignore me!”

“Sure thing.”

“Jesus Christ! What the hell am I supposed to do with you, you douchebag!?”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! You won’t regret it, promise. Can I hug you too, Parker?”

“No! Just-”

“Play nice, Parker.”

“Fuck it! Fine. Be like that. And you... You... Just make sure you earn your keep...”

“What’s his problem?”

“Oh, don’t mind him. He’s always cranky.”

“I heard that.”

“Hee. Watch this now-he’s going to go grab his skateboard and vanish for an hour.”

“He skates?”

“Yeah, since he was little. His mum got him into it.”

“His mum...?”

“Yeah. She was awesome, especially for a ghost.”

“His mum died? When?”

“When he was six, I think.”

“Seven actually-about six months before I met you. And for future reference, Chris, the fact that I am wearing a helmet doesn’t suddenly make me deaf. I can still hear you.”

“Never thought you couldn’t, Parky. The fact you were in the cement walled garage with the door shut was what made me think you couldn’t hear us.”

“Doesn’t he like people talking about his mum?”

“Nah, he doesn’t much appreciate it. People always ask too many questions, or heap pity on him.”

“Chris. I’m standing just here.”

“I know, Parker, I can see you.”

“Oh, for God’s sake. I’m out of here.”

“Bye Parker! Have fun, and say hi to Parker for me!”

“Bye Jones! Thanks again for letting me stay!”

“Jones?”

“Well, he doesn’t call me by my name.”

“Makes sense. Just don’t start calling me Ridge-cookie.”

“That’s your surname? Aw, it’s cute!”

“Shut up, or I’ll put you in a grave where you belong.”

“Oooh, touchy aren’t we? Ridge-cookie.”

“Stanley? Stanley, where are you? Come protect me form the mean lady!”

“Ahahahaha, lol.”

“Say that again and I will kill you. And I mean it.”

“‘msry.”

“Deaaaaaathhhh.”
