Oh dear god, the pain, the pain, make it stop.

I've just gotten the reminder from my body that I am, in fact, a non-pregnant, fertile, girl. Because if it doesn't remind me every few months, I do tend to forget.

I'll rest up best I can - basically all I can do is keep taking my Midol and wait it out.

And yes, that article just demanded to be shared.

If you don't want kids, get it whipped out. Why put up with that?

Er, cuz getting it whipped out is really, really not very good for you... menopause at age 26 would put you at risk of all sorts of diseases, not to mention really mess up, like, everything to do with your reproductive system and sex life and all. (As in, eeeee, I'm very, very squicked at that suggestion.)

Uh, a hysterectomy doesn't work quite that neatly... you tend to need to go onto estrogen replacement at least for a while even if you keep the ovaries, because your body does start a menopausal reaction. Also, it does affect your sexual pleasure to lose the uterus and possibly cervix. Also, if the ovaries aren't removed, any PMS symptoms are usually unaltered (although the actual uterine cramps would be gone), because your menstrual cycle is regulated by your ovaries, not your uterus.

Essentially, it's a package. You can't delete parts of it and expect the whole thing to function normally, it won't. Taking bits away will affect hormones and sexual function, even if you think you're just taking out the gestation-chamber. Humans are not built to have optional parts, not really.

Gah! I wish I could do something to help, like hiring some goons to rough up your uterus and possibly scare it into behaving. That at least has amusement potential, right?

*sniggers* A great deal - though being roughed up is what it feels like is going on now.
