I've just gotten the reminder from my body that I am, in fact, a non-pregnant, fertile, girl. Because if it doesn't remind me every few months, I do tend to forget.
Were those doctors male? If so, maybe a female doctor would be more sympathetic and helpful?
(They seem to have "improved" LJ so that you can no longer copy and paste text, which is annoying when you want to quote part of the article you're replying to.)
I'll gladly take the chocolate, but I'll only take the mountain Dew if it's american - I can't stand the taste, and Canadian MD has no caffeine - and thus no point.
I won't go into details, but I've put up with the misery of being 'not normal' to the point of debilitation & uselessness for many years, so I know what you mean. Hormone therapy has been a tremendous relief, but the doc won't let me stay on it much longer.
Possibly in your case you could convince the doc to *TRY* hormones. Since you don't have this problem constantly the way I do, maybe you could get relief and still be within the safe usage guidelines? Depends on how long it takes it to work, I suppose. If it takes longer to take effect than your period lasts I don't imagine there would be any point to it.
The doctor I went to most recently made unhappy noises when discussing hormone treatment - I may look into it.
Honestly, if it is purely stress - than it's possible that me being on Anti-anxiety drugs may have some effect and I should wait till my dose is stabalized before seeing what's what.
It's hard to say whether your problem is caused by stress, or having your problem adds to the stress, I'd say.
If I were you, I'd do some googling on your condition NOW, and not just patiently wait and see if the doc is right about it being purely stress. You might be able to find useful info to discuss with your doctor -doctors don't know everything. More than once I've mentioned a possible (accepted, used successfully for years on many women, not experimental) treatment that the doctor never heard of. If it weren't for googling, I wouldn't have been able to convince my doctor to let me try the hormone therapy as an interim treatment (doc thought I would have my op months ago, but due to *her* and the hospital's inefficiency, it's been 4 months now -so glad I *insisted* on the hormones. I was literally useless without them.)

The problem you mention appears to be a bug in the Horizon viewing scheme that LJ made the default. LJ has known about it for weeks. Possibly they'll fix it eventually, but in the mean time you can try switching your LJ viewing scheme from 'Horizon' to one of the others- I use 'Xcolibur',

In fact no, they were both female. :( So I suppose I'm really sunk.

literally.
Ones's body should not be in such pain when things are perfectly normal.
Cramps are why I don't believe in a merciful god anymore.
