There is a movement for the PKs to reclaim their Eidolonish heritage, and be more than the petty emotionless thugs for hire they devolved into. Braca is involved. How sanctioned by PK higher-ups this movement is can vary, but it's a long, hard, complicated PLOTTY process, not an offscreen handwave, goddammit!
Has someone written this fic? Because I want to read it.

But the "PKs turn into a positive force" offscreen handwave happens A LOT. I don't have links to any of those stories. They tend to be aweful in general.

Everybody's entitled to thier own interpretation. It's just some of these things NEVER happen, and that was starting to bug me. But thanks. :)
I do have slight problems with Stark comforting Chiana because they never had that much of a relationship together. Most of the time she just mocked him.Well, yes. But (and this could just be me) I got a sense of a kind of shaky comraderie between the two - it comes out strongest in the scene where Stark is catatonic and Chiana's feeding him ("C'mon Starkie, C'mon..." "I don't remember him being like this." "*painful sigh* Nobody does."), and a bit when they're dealing with the Eidolon. I think the maybe got some bonding time when they went to get the Diagnosian. (In my little world, Chi talked about how much she missed Zhaan, Stark explained WTF was up with JQ, Stark apologized for being the cause of her blindness in a way, and Chi forgave him. I want this fic *SO BAD* Anyway.) There' ( ... )

I dunno, I always thought she and John got quite a lot - thiers was one of the well-develloped Ampersand (freindshippy) relationships in the show. But it's true, it's hard to get too much of a good thing. :)
The scene I'm talking about is when John as used the weapon and it is expanding and he is practicing his brinkmanship with Grayza and Staleek and it is coming down to the wire, Stark begins praying that Staleek gets the message and says "Peace." Chiana chimes in that she doesn't know enough prayers and asks him to pray one for her too and takes his hand.
Ah! I wondered if that's what you meant! I could *NOT* remember Chi's dialoge there, only that she took Stark's hand.
I know there are many types of shippers out there. Stark/Zhaan is beautiful too. I just honestly felt that TPTB threw that out there all of a sudden to spice things up. I was growing weary of Zhaan and I"m sort of glad that she got a boyfriend in The Locket. They ( ... )

I also agree with everything BUT the Grayza having John's baby bit. It's Maryk's! He was all up in her business about the baby, and was being all lovey dovey to her stomach. The dude would know her history and would have had the kid's DNA tested to be sure it's his.
And the wormhole weapon knowledge...nothing is said about the actual wormhole knowledge dammit, plus he was figuring shit out on his own there before the Ancients jacked him (ingores the pun). He'd gotten way further than Furlow or Scorpius in all their years of research all by his little lonesome self. OR John dying in a normal human lifetime *ignores involuntary tears welling up and plugs ears so I don't have to hear it* lalalalala I can't heeeear youuuuu.
As for posting on TF... I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU! *veg*

Mmmm, you make a good point - that didn't occur to me. I guess it's just a gut reaction to the mentality of "la la la John never slept with anyone but Aeryn la la la thier love is so pure la la la D'argo is the one true sprog" that just drives me nuts. A logical reason like yours - I can see it. A knee jerk "NO!! It CANNOT BE!!!" - bugs me. Deeply.
Diliberatly ignoring canon because you don't like it really gets under my skin. (Except, for some reason, in comic books. Then I encourage it. Because DC and Marvel don't know ANYTHING)

Whereas for me, I kinda liked it - and then clung to it madly in the face of encountering the "OMFGNOFINGWAYSTFU!!11!" attitude I described above to Kaz.
As well as weirdly squicky, though that probably has a lot to do with my personal hate-on for Grayza, I admit.
Gotta admit, I was ticked she was there at *all*, when she was in a brig the last time we saw her. I think it was my inner angst fan that wanted the kid to be Johns - I can be pretty soapy at times. :) The line for me between soap and angst is not in the events but the emotional level of the events. You can get away with *rediculous* stuff, IMHO, if you keep the emotions real.
So, given that we're never told one way or another, I choose to believe it wasn't. I am happy with this choice. :)

Yeah, I can understand that... I think the fact that I was pretty much avoiding the obsessively-J/A-shippy aspect of fandom entirely by the time PKW aired helped prevent me from having that particular backlash reaction. :)

I would have really liked to have seen how she got from Point A to Point B, myself, but I don't have much trouble believing that she wormed her way out of the brig and back into power somehow, and that's actually pretty far down the list of plot gaps that I wish could have been filled.

I think it would have been hard for the show's writers to pull that off, let alone fic writers, who, let's face it, generally go further into the soap direction rather than otherwise. (Yes, most definitely including me. :))
LOL! Dude, I don't think you've ever done anything soapy, not even Embodyment was soapy! But yeah, it *does* have the potential to be badly mishandled.
I'd love to see Point 2 done in fic. (Or have you -- or someone -- actually written a drabble ( ... )

I have to admit I'm surprized with how many people are saying things like that.
I'm ambivalent about Grayza's baby one way or the other. I think it was unfortunate from a story telling standpoint that Rebecca was pregnant, and I think the fact it wasn't really addressed means that the writers would not have made her character pregnant.
I agree 100% with that, yeah. I think it came out of nowhere.
Braca/Scorpy slashing creeps me out.
Oh? But thier love is so wholesome and pure and.. okay, I'll stop. :)
Okay, all slash really squicks me (not the concept, but reading explicit slash scenes, just not my cup of tea), so I will agree that if someone wants to go that route, I DON'T want ANY details.
To be honest, once it gets beyond a certain rating it squicks me too. (Scorpy/Braca, that is. Not slash in general. Explicit slash in general *IS* my cup of tea.) But I find the idea of the emotional attachment between two consummate Peacekeepers ( ... )
