I have to admit I'm surprized with how many people are saying things like that.
I'm ambivalent about Grayza's baby one way or the other. I think it was unfortunate from a story telling standpoint that Rebecca was pregnant, and I think the fact it wasn't really addressed means that the writers would not have made her character pregnant.
I agree 100% with that, yeah. I think it came out of nowhere.
Braca/Scorpy slashing creeps me out.
Oh? But thier love is so wholesome and pure and.. okay, I'll stop. :)
Okay, all slash really squicks me (not the concept, but reading explicit slash scenes, just not my cup of tea), so I will agree that if someone wants to go that route, I DON'T want ANY details.
To be honest, once it gets beyond a certain rating it squicks me too. (Scorpy/Braca, that is. Not slash in general. Explicit slash in general *IS* my cup of tea.) But I find the idea of the emotional attachment between two consummate Peacekeepers endlessly fascinating - especially the idea that thier is a forbidden love, NOT because of thier genders, but because of entirely *DIFFERENT* social taboos. PK love fascinates me, what can I say? :)
...and then there's the fact that to me anyway, Scorpy/Sikozu just made no sense.
Of course, my adendum would be that Crais and Talyn did not die, after all, Chiana (or was it Jool) remarked about how little they had found in the debris field. That does not necessarily mean that both are unharmed and living it up in the UTs or wherever.
I *do* feel they died, but I acknoledge the dramatic possibilities in them having survied - as long as, as you say, they're not just out on a bender somewhere.
As for posting it on TF, go for it if you want. It might elicit some interesting discussion. Of course, it might also find the one rabid troll that just cannot understand people see things differently, but it might make you feel better knowing that others share you view of the Farscape future universe.
And given what everyone here has said I think I will - to be fair my main retissence was in that this is phrased pretty harshly, and might come accross as an attack (and in some ways *IS* an attack to certain mentalities). They tend to go to extreme mesures to avoid conflict on TF, and I don't want to get banned.
As for Horizons, I'll admit that I never finished it. I got partway in and between the translator microbes extending life (after The Locket had shown John would only live a normal life, though I realize not everyone chooses to believe that ep because they want J&A to live long fruitful lives and die of old age together),

and Chiana's dual marriage (okay, at first I thought the idea was very her, but to have one husband a little guy that lived in a locket?) I really couldn't finish it.
Have to admit, that threw me like woah. But a fic has to be baaaaaaad before I won't finish it - or severely contrary to my current mood. And I really do love the ending.
So, even though Rockne wrote it, I don't take anything in there as canon. I treat it as fanfic.

I find their relationship very fascinating, especially with that scene in Kansas where Scorpy is hiding from the PKs and singles out Braca. That threw all sorts of theories I had to that point totally off kilter. I still do wonder about the two of them, I mean Braca seemed to take great joy in tormenting Scorpy start of season 4, though now I wonder if that was a show to pave the way for Scorpy's return? Though I really have to say that the thought of Scorpy getting down and dirty with anyone is like thinking about your grandparents, I really don't want to go down that road. LOL

You know, I actually was buying this one. They built it up how she was attracted to his intellect, and while the idea of Scorpy and anyone (see above) creeps me out, this made sense. What didn't make sense was PKW, but then again, I prefer to go AU either at the end of the season 3 or 4. I have yet to tackle the post PKW universe.
As for posting to TF [modhat], you clearly state this is your opinion, maybe add in further disclaimers along the line of "What turns you(me) off to future fanfic?" and you could go into "This is how I see the FS universe after PKW and I find that fic that violates this just grates me the wrong way." As long as you are clear it's your opinion and you don't specifically attack anyone, which I didn't see, you were attacking the ideas. I would take out "fucking" as we generally prefer you don't use that word unless in a fic rated for bad language.[/modhat]
Going back up to your post about Aeryn's summer vacation and not used as an angst vehicle, had UR not been the break episode, I would not have kept watching. I had just Scaped hubby at the end of season 3 and then season 4 started up and I lost him for all the angst. First he was disappointed there was no Aeryn, and then he thought the one that came back was a bitch.

I read a fantastic fic once, I think it was astrogirl2's, that dealt with that idea, reconciling Braca taking glee in torturing Scropy and him being on Scorpy's side all along. Basically (without getting into squicky details) it stated that when Braca said "this is for all the times I had to say YES" what he leaves unsaid is that he *likes* saying yes. He *loved* saying yes, and Grayza badly miscalculated the nature of thier relationship.
Though I really have to say that the thought of Scorpy getting down and dirty with anyone is like thinking about your grandparents, I really don't want to go down that road. LOL

Sikozu going all hot for Scorpy made sense. Scorpy returning it to the extent he did, and neglecting Braca (which is what seems to be going on in BT) didn't, IMHO. And yeah, PKWars - was a bit of a mess where Sikozu was concerned. I do my best to salvage it, since I don't like handwaving away canon.

Did you know, I completely forgot you were a mod when I said that? Heh - where's my brain? I was planning on nixing all the f words - or at least "Farscaping" all the cussing, since it does serve to illustrate how strongly I feel about some of these points.

Out of idle curiosity - what was it about UR that changed that for you?
(And I just want to kick John and Aeryn in the HEAD for most of late 3 and all but very late four. Choices to BHTB. That whole timeframe. Just... ARGH!!! Zhaan died for *THIS* dren? Give me a gorram frelling BREAK!!!)

For me that episode felt more like Farscape. Doing something unusual, pushing the boundaries. Any of us that have followed scifi have seen various takes on Alternate Realites and how they are created. This one was unique. It was incredibly fun to see the twisted versions of the characters. Plus, it gave us a ton of information about wormholes and why the Ancients didn't want anyone to understand them. They are more than just conduits to travel long distances quickly (which is about all I thought until that point).
Plus, there was no manufactured J&A angst. I just didn't see it. You had John getting upset about her not telling him about the baby, something I thought was OOC because he's normally pretty compassionate and level-headed (though living alone on Elack could have changed that) and I would have expected him to go a bit easier on Aeryn after the trauma she had been through. Then there was her telling him her story and he still holds a grudge against her. But then in Prefect Murder, they are getting all lovey dovey again, only to go all angsty the next. It was like there were two groups of writers writing two different character developments. So, it wasn't so much the angst, but the inconsistency and seeming implausibility of it that just about drove me away.
I think the biggest problem of season 4 was the huge jump of time between seasons (story time). Honestly, I didn't recognize most of the characters when they came back. I didn't really connect with them right away because we didn't get enough backstory tidbits to feel comfortable with the character changes. That's the royal we. :)
I do realize DK says Farscape is a love story first and formost, but we hadn't seen it take the level of focus that it did. For the first time, I found myself cheering when J&A kissed at the end of the spider ep (brain fart on the name). It was more of a "Hallelujah! The story can move forward" type of cheer.
Oh, and back to frelling for fucking, that's not a big deal. :) I can understand wanting to leave some sort of expletive there to emphasize your distaste/dislike/hatred whatever you want to call it.

No, that's the actual we, I feel the same way, even if I hadn't realized it in those terms. You're absolutely right - so much went on behind the scenes between s3 and s4 and not all of it got outlined. The character devellopment continued on when we weren't looking - that's kinda bad storytelling, especially if you don't go back and flesh it all out.
I do realize DK says Farscape is a love story first and formost, but we hadn't seen it take the level of focus that it did. For the first time, I found myself cheering when J&A kissed at the end of the spider ep (brain fart on the name). It was more of a "Hallelujah! The story can move forward" type of cheer.
I always felt DK's later amendment, that FS was several interwoven love stories was closer to the mark. But that's my bias. And yeah, I was *so* happy when they resolved all that dren, becuase as you say, now the plot can move forward. (And the ep in question is Twice Shy, BTW)
