The fact that Sisko and Dr. Bashir held out the longest of the humans before succumbing. Unfortunately, I can't tell you why that's interesting (spoilers!), except to say that future revelations about these two characters make for a kind of interesting reverse-retcon on why this is so.
It took me a second to figure out what you meant here, but you're absolutely right. That's an amusing after-the-fact explanation for something I sure they just did for storytelling reasons in that particular episode. It's nice when fan rationalizations actually fit nicely and neatly into the continuity after the fact ( ... )

Season one of DS9.

Its probably the best first season of a new trek show, just i don't think it was as good as what came later.

Just me being pedantic, but "kidnapping of the only Bajoran...takes no prisoners." Ahem. Isn't kidnapping a form of prisoner taking?

Otherwise, you're dead bang on for this analysis.

The bit you mention about the resistance cells lack of concern really caught my attention. I remember Kira telling various people throughout the rest of the series exactly how a guerilla war is fought. How you have to be willing to kill your own peple to get at the enemy. That's the sort of thing you'll never see on another Trek, even though it should have been present on Voyager.

Okay, I've been enjoying your reviews of DS9 - and it's making me want to buy the complete series box set, but I had to stop and comment on this:

The fact that Sisko and Dr. Bashir held out the longest of the humans before succumbing. Unfortunately, I can't tell you why that's interesting (spoilers!)

ZOMG! You're so right. That's a wonderful thing.

*uses B5 icon, 'cause I don't have a DS9 one - close enough*
