Liz's Instant Glee-Cap - 5x16 - Tested

Apr 15, 2014 22:57

It’s funny, attempting to live the spoiler-free life while participating in fandom at large. Because on the one hand, I don’t feel like I knew much of anything about this episode going into it, other than the tiny bits and pieces from the promo at the end of last week’s. I didn’t really know plot at all, I didn’t know songs other than the clip from ( Read more... )

I don't really have anything to add, just that I loved every single minute of the ep and all the words here and yes. Thank you for loving the boys like I do<3

I love them SO MUCH. All the more when they're REAL.

i got stuck on kurt doing push-ups too (then I had to go on tumblr to find a gif of it asap). and blaine and shoving a whole cronut in his mouth like that? dude. i'm sure kurt would love if you'd show off that talent in a more productive manner.

why haven't we been getting THIS glee since like S4? so good!

1. A+ gif usage
2. No joke, I love croissants SO MUCH. To the point that I honestly can't let myself near them anymore because they're such a trigger food for me that I'll pull a Blaine and eat like six in one day.

ENJOY THEM FOR ME OKAY?

And Kurt was Kurt. Kurt has fought for every inch that he’s gained, socially and physically, and isn’t going to give it up because it makes Blaine uncomfortable. He still adores Blaine, absolutely loves him and has no intention of any of that changing in the slightest. But he is not going to be any less than who he is. He’d much rather find ways to help Blaine catch up than to intentionally slow himself down. And no, Kurt wasn’t perfect, either. He fought just as hard during “Love is a Battlefield.” He refused to address the issue for a time. And again, I love it all the more for it. Because I don’t know about you, but I don’t always fight fair, either. Especially when I’m pissed and hurting.

THIS THIS THIS

and everything else!

We're still going to be rambling about this on Friday morning, aren't we?

I want to say something clever, but all I can think is, yes yes yes, I love this, give me more of this. Give me silliness and serious things and give me conflict that gets *worked on* instead of just frustrating me. I'm still having trouble understanding that this has been three episodes in a row that I felt so positive about, because I don't think that's happened before.

And Julie when the others were singing? I kept thinking, this is what would happen if you dropped a real-world person into the Glee-world. Total "wtf is going on, why is everyone singing?"

Poor Julie, that made me laugh so hard. Her WTF face was perfect.

This really has been three good episodes in a row and I'm PSYCHED. Though I find it interesting to note how my opinion shifts as the episode settles into my brain. "New New York" only keeps getting better and better the more I think about it. "Bash" has some problems that bug me that I didn't latch onto at first. "Tested" refuses to leave my brain and there is SO MUCH MEATY AWESOME GOOD STUFF IN THERE.

It makes me tempted to go back and revise my initial "ratings," but I'll leave them be as first impressions.

Oh, I'm definitely feeling anxious. I've been saying all season (well, I can't remember how much I've said it in recaps, but I've definitely had conversations to this effect) that I am just waiting for Blaine to snap. I remain spoiler-free, but this is just based on how Blaine has been acting at various points all throughout this season - kind of manic, insecure... and it has only intensified now that he's in New York ( ... )
