Wow! He really does talk very well for his age. I'm sad he and Alex will not get to spend more time together in the same class, but I know he needs to get out of there. Peter is getting bored! :)
I remember being excited when Matthew first said "More water please" And Alex is doing stuff like: Alex: cry cry cry Mama: What do you want? Alex: Please? Mama: Please what? Alex: Food. Mama: You want food? Alex: smile & clap
And this morning, he very distinctly used "thirsty" (I thought I'd seen it before, but there was no mistaking it today.)
I must say that watching the kids acquire language is one of my favorite parts of parenting.
sooooo neat! Peter spent his first year so incredibly frustrated that he couldn't communicate or DO much for himself that he's the happiest kid in the world now that he can make himself understood and get or do what he needs at the time.
I'm definitely looking forward to the communication phase. Right now there's just howling, and Patrick and I look at each other and shrug after we've ruled out the checklist of possible culprits.
Still waiting for language acquisition to begin (well...make it's presence known; I'm sure he's been acquiring stuff for a while now, little sponge!) here. I keep telling Corwin he can start talking any day now.
I think he's still too focussed on figuring out this walking thing, though. He is SOOO close!
I've noticed that they'll tend to focus on one major thing at a time, then some other area will explode with growth... One of the most fascinaing things to watch, and I completely understand how people could do child development research as a career!
People do child development research in order to have an official license to mess with kids' minds. As a parent, I only have an unofficial license to do so.(Actually first acquired such license as an uncle)
