Brace yourselves. Tough one to watch. Tough one to rewatch. Even tougher to process... and damn near impossible to write down, so I ended up using close to 6,000 words. This goddamn show. *sobs*
Sammy, thanks for all your hard work on this review- I think you answered my q from the other day pretty well:) I need to go back and read that part again but what you say here about ziva not knowing exactly how Tony felt about her until the penny dropped in the warehouse scene makes total sense now
( ... )
I think (and fervently hope) that them dropping the hatchet onto Gibbs this time is their way of giving our two beloved agents the space to work things out. Under the watchful eyes of Gibbs, nothing ever happens. But they seem to get closer whenever they travel
( ... )
I mean how often do you see people who are in love say, "He/She's my best friend," and mean it, and you think, "We should all be so lucky."
My grandparents are in love, live together, share everything together and have been together since before my parents got together (it's how they met, it's my mom's mom and my dad's dad, don't worry my grandparents are married, and say they never will be) but they are each other's best friend and it's how they get along so well together. Sure they have their fall out's, but they are small and they still love each other at the end of the day.
Blame Gary and his goddamn perfect episodes that are so good that most people don't see the amount of perfection. For some reason I can't seem to shut up about that. ;)
I think that moment of realization from Ziva, that moment where her mind finally sees that Tony actually loves her, is so much more than progress for the two of them. It's progress for her.
You just gave me the biggest, fattest smile ever. Thank you, and yes. This is a perfect thought to go to bed with. ♥
Awesome review, thank you so much. I'm sure you know I'm the chick who wrote the car analogy on tumblr, and I will stick to it, lol. You certainly took it further, and that's very intriguing. I like it. I also think it might go further in the Double Blind episode... like when she snuck into Tony's backpack to get the keys (oh she knows where his car keys are huh?), and he clearly was the one to figure out where she had run to. This was a truly magnificent episode, and you put it into words.
Before I go reading threw the other comments, I just want to say that it took over 9 hours to read this. I started this at about 11:30-11:45 this morning. Now it's 9:26 and I'm dead tired. But, I read the first half before I went to work for 12:30 and I just got back from Mother's Day dinner with the family about 30 minutes ago...
And now I'm just going to have to watch the entire episode again with all this in mind... God I'm tired...
isn't it funny, how seeing the later episodes changes the earlier episodes? Try watching Gone, the opening scene where the girl sees her father die, after Shabbat Shalom. Try watching the airport scene of Shiva, after knowing what happens in Double Blind. NCIS: destroying everything you love.
I've been watching Season 3 and I can just tell by skipping from 3 to 5 how much there relationship changes. Then from watch 7 and the new episodes to 10. And all the other episodes from this season, so much has changed...
I think I better get to bed, my brain is about to exploded and I have to get up for school tomorrow... Curse you school!
