I feel like I've done nothing but spend this month battling depression. This is getting old. -
end of an era
Sometime in the last month or so, my body started to react poorly to alcohol. Not hangovers per se, but really violent stomach reaction and fatigue to get over a night of drinking. We finally got a replacement box spring over the weekend, and the resulting sleep was glorious. I'd forgotten that when J and I moved in together 5 or so years ago we used my queen sized mattress, but his full sized box spring since we couldn't fit the queen box spring up the stairs. eyes on the prize
In assessing my values and wants for the year travel is really second to health and always has been. I haven't always been so good at making that dream possible in my actions. I'm trying to translate this desire into financial well being by reminding myself that every impulse purchase, every new "thing" or want that I spend money on takes me ( Read more... ) -

Starting out the year in a mental rut. My mind hasn't really been in a good place for a few days now, and I've been finding it difficult to shake it off. -

2012
No work tomorrow so spending the night cleaning and thinking on the year. Aside from the lack of traveling 2012 wasn't bad. It was our first full year in our house which, while sometimes I feel like I do a disproportionate amount of upkeep, I'm still really happy to have a Home of my own. This morning, my coworker brought his 2 month old daughter in so everyone could meet her. Some staff members are rather baby crazy, and will hold just about any baby that comes their way. They have fond memories of being parents, whether their kids are my age, just finishing high school, or visiting with grand children ( Read more... ) -

You can, in fact, retrain your brain to focus on the positive sides of trying something-you know, like This is a thing that I want, that might make me really happy-instead of sabotaging yourself with negative thoughts.
