The latest plant to come through the Rift had a bud spotted with big, dark "eyes." Everyone was fond of it; Gwen even talked to it regularly.
But it began to grow alarmingly fast. The bud opened overnight into an enormous, fleshy flower, bringing a morning chorus of "Ugh, what is that smell?"
Tasked with disposal, Owen tried an acid spritz, a blowtorch, and a shredder, to no avail.
"Hang on-" Gwen stood near the plant. "You are worthless," she said in a harsh tone, "you stink, nobody likes you!"
Three leaves shriveled.
Gwen nodded. "Now. Who's best at insults?"
