Sarah smoothed the boy's hair as he lay on the pillow.
"Story," he begged. "Only... interesting this time."
Sarah raised an eyebrow, but began. "Thousands of years ago, the goddess Ammut-"
He groaned. "Auntie Sarah, I said interesting."
"Well... there's a boy who makes gadgets and a girl who kicks monsters."
"Any guns?"
"Rather a lot, actually, but they won't be appearing at bedtime, okay?"
The boy huffed, resigned. "Okay. You can tell me the good bits tomorrow."
Sarah smiled. "Maybe. Now, in England, not very long ago, there was a man who chased holes that dropped into the past..."
