Part of what's taking so much time in prep for the move-in is how my own project completion timeline works. I like to be really thorough. This manifests itself in sometimes annoying ways; Saturday's project of removing the goofy space-inefficient wire shelf system in the master bedroom closet and replacing it with top-and-bottom hanging rods also ( Read more... )

Hey wow! My weekend was spent working on our Ikea wardrobe! Every inch of my body hurts! A lot!

Ha! Did you get a PAX? Right now I'm trying to figure out how to divide and use all of the interior space.

Yep! We have a whole wall, about 15 feet or so I think, with Pax in white with Birkeland glass doors. I built the bridge thing where it goes over the bed and has wardrobes on either side. Right now I am finishing up wiring all the lights inside and above to work with external switches. Staci went to Ikea yesterday and bought a ton of the "guts," little wire baskets, shelves, trouser hangers, etc. etc. etc. Fun fun!

Wow, my project is puny compared to that. We have less than half that amount of wall space to cover, and probably a lot fewer lights to wire. Now I know who to call when we run into a problem, thanks. ;)

Ugh, closets. Fun for you.

We have to outfit our walk-in closet sometime too. It's barren right now, just the poles and the shelf that's built in. I'm dreading the cost of putting in the closet. I'm torn between Ikea or the shelving at the Container Store. Although Ikea has those nifty pull-out shoe racks I totally dig.

I agree, working together as a couple is suuuper hard, but also ridonkulously rewarding. There, aren't you glad I'm young?

Oh.

Is Nola in the prenatal at OHSU? My mom's the blonde sec there. :)

Ah, nope - she's at Providence St. V. Is your mom an RN?

Nah, she's the unit secretary. Been there for about 14 years now, and she loves it. She keeps all the RNs ticking. :)

Right on! Was she talking? She kept saying "Uncle Tim is soooo awesome" when we visited.

She was walking and stuff. Kids! They grow so fast!

Plus, I got to HOLD her. VERY cool.

I'm in the same boat as you with Dr. B moving in. I've already done a lot but there is so much more that it's kicking my butt. We are prioritizing but finding the time seems to be difficult right now.
