I know this isn't what you asked, but I wouldn't add the C. If you're getting it because you love the book so much, and you're also getting "yum," you should probably leave it as is. JMO. ;)

Yeah, I mean I considered that, but the thing is that something kind of bothers me about spelling it "yuk", and I love the idea of it so I am quite sure I want it on my body, but I know that spelling it that way would bother me, and that's no good. I actually do agree with you in principle, but I'm confident enough in how much better I'll feel with it by adding the C that it's not a big issue to me.

Good for you. Once the words stop being part of a book or a poem, etc, then they're already removed from how the author originally intended them, and you should be allowed to feel some ownership of what you're putting on your body.

IAWTC.

Almost "yuk" and "yum" seem more of "twins" than "yuck" and "yum," to me. Although, I do like the look of "yuck" better, the symmetry of the three letters I find more pleasing.

Just thought I'd throw that out there LOL.

I like the idea of hipbones a lot, but can't help with your questions.

i've been chubby for a while, so all my tattoos are the way they've always been, can't help you there. but i just wanna say that that's pretty much my favorite book. tom robbins is the best, and almost any line from that book would be tattoo-worthy.

i dont know if i would put it on my hips (also one of my favorite books ever!), i would probably either put it across your clavicles, your wrists or your feet. since it's such a small tattoo, i wouldnt put it on any great expanse of skin that may be better suited to a larger piece later since you obviously want more.

I love that idea so much! That book is also one of my favourites. Sorry I don't really have any suggestions. I have considered getting a 'yum' tattoo though haha.

One of my best friends absolutely hates reading (mostly because he's dyslexic), so I'm reading Slaughterhouse-Five to him, and when we finish that, we'll move to Breakfast of Champions or Sirens of Titan or something. He wanted to know the meaning behind my Vonnegut tattoo, and why I paint Vonnegut quotes all over these rocks we spray paint, but he refuses to read. Ever.

It's interesting to find I'm not really the only one reading to their 'grown-up' friends and partners.

Since you already have a Vonnegut, might I ask which one you have and a picture ;O :)?
I'm thinking about getting the slaughterhouse five tomb stone.

do you have any pictures of that healed, by the way? i'm considering a vonnegut tattoo myself, so I was looking through the vonnegut tags last night and saw that, and I'm so intrigued by the white ink. i'd love to see how it's doing now, and how visible it is. it looks fantastic, by the way!
