Can I just bitch about doctors for a second? Does anyone know why the hell the little nurses ask you a bunch of questions, like if you're allergic to any medications, if the doctor is just going to come in 5 minutes later and ask the EXACT same things? I mean, the nurse put my answers into my file, is the following doctor illiterate? Why can she ( Read more... )

I got asked those questions literally 4 times each time a nurse came in yesterday as I waited for my surgery, then as I was laying on the operating table, they asked me the same things. Just in case you know, I developed an allergy to ~whatever~ in a half an hour. And apparently my mom had to answer the same questions when she was in the waiting room, just in case our answers were different. wth! Its like they just want to make their lives and our lives harder. lol one of my nurses yesterday actually said that they werent getting rid of paperwork anytime soon with how many papers were in my file.

I hope the antibiotics work for you bb. ♥

AMEN!

On Thursday, I had to go to the ER for this issue I'm having with my hand. And so I go in, and the nurse asks me all these questions. Then, they take me back to a room. Like, ten minutes later, another nurse comes in and asks the EXACT same things. Then, twenty minutes later the doctor comes in, asks the EXACT same things, and doesn't do shit and says "Oh, you're fine, this'll go away in a day or two."

So we went to my other doctor and guess what... I have basically carpal tunnel, except it's the one that's on the outside of the hand instead of the inside. And it took my doctor like, two minutes to diagnose me. But the idiot at the ER thought nothing was wrong.

Sooo stupid. So yeah... I feel your pain and totally agree!

LMAO
You're in the States, right? Because, it's just shit there. If you haven't seen Sicko yet, do. It's crazy how different medical care is around the world. The US is absolutely appalling.

Oh yes, it happened to me once when one ear couldn't hear anything, I didn't know why the two nurses ask MORE questions than the doc and those two asked THE SAME questions twice. ::rolleyes::

::huggles you::

It's annoying, but I guess when you're dealing with people's lives, it never hurts to triple check. And as a parent, I definitely appriciate it! We had to go to the hospital recently, bub had hurt his finger, and I was sick to death of retelling the sotry of what happened, but it was reassuring to know that they were being thorough. No matter how infallible the system may seem, communication errors still happen and it could lead to fatal outcomes.
