I've been mildly depressed lately, but I've been trying to pull out of it. Doing something about it helps...

But it's amazing, after a 90° day how much my spirits are lifted through the simple reality of a rain fall at night. Cooling the air and the house. The sound of it on the aspens is nearly as amazing as the scent of water in the air.

We had a really great dinner with Jon Singer and JacqueM, at which I got to taste my first sake (Otokoyama was really good cold) and had some mildly good sushi and surprising tempura strawberries. Jon also gave me another of his astonishing Song Dynasty lookalike China Black glazeware pieces, a solid little bowl I now use for oatmeal *laughs*. ( Read more... )

I am unexpectedly depressed... took a few minutes today to go through the last of the boxes from work with John. Yay! amberley is here safe. I did the drive to get him, and we hit the Moonlight Diner on the way home as well as Borders where he bought me Cory's Little Brother and recommended a new Vernor Vinge. I've gradually been catching up with life since the camping trip. Just reading, knitting, playing Okami with Jet. Yeah, it's like the seventh time I'm playing Okami all the way through, and it's fun to do again. Inspiring for painting, too.
