I wonder how Hispanophones write (with a pen on paper) the reverse exclamation mark (¡): from top to bottom (as the 'i' character) or from bottom to top?
i think you are asking about handwriting, yes? i.e. does the pen stroke start at the bottom of the symbol & stroke up or vice versa plus does the dot get added first or last.
sorry, i have no idea, by the way :) but my first reading of the question i interpreted as "how do they find that symbol on a keyboard when typing" which is an entirely different question. i thought re-framing the question might help!
Me, too, but I so seldom write (as opposed to type) Spanish, and even less seldom use the reverse exclamation point (though more frequently the question mark, which, btw, I do from top to bottom). My Chilean friends don't seem to use either much in informal writing (written or typed), either. Maybe its use is dropping off a bit?
A lot of people I know don't use it much when typing informally. Can't speak much for handwriting, cause other than the grocery list or filling out a check, I don't really handwrite much anymore.
If I start a word with capital A I start from the top but if I'm writing an entire word in all caps with an A not the first letter I'll start the A from the bottom. Capital M is much the same, though as first letter it can go either way depending on my writing speed. Strange.
