I might also be a good idea if it were bookmarked and we can direct all queries to this post. And I can edit the post so that all suggestions are kept in the entry, and more readable.

And we could also do the ( Read more... )

Thank you for your contribution :D

And you answered the question I forgot to ask, too! Which was what would be some good songs to suggest to those interested in English :)

For Italian, I find that Daniele Silvestri has good diction and is also very catchy.

Not quite on topic but... there's a German band called "Nevada Tan"? Does this have anything to do with the "Nevada Tan" name on 2ch about the sixth grader who murdered a classmate in Nagasaki?

Small world, if so!

In Finnish, I'm quite a fan of Ari Koivunen's "Hetki Lyö" (his accent is wonderfully clear), and most of Apulanta's stuff is pretty good - it's catchy, and fairly easy to understand.

In French, I like David Gilmour's "Je Crois Entendre Encore", and some of Jacques Villeneuve's songs (yes, the former Formula One driver lol) - his songs in English aren't much, lyrics-wise, but his songs in French are pretty nice, and he's easy to understand. And, this sounds a bit off-the-wall, but if you can find any Christmas carols, they're fun, and a lot of them are similar or identical in tune to carols you might know in English, which can be helpful. :-)

Hebrew:
Ofra Haza- not exactly current (she passed away in 2000 z"l) and some of her early music may sound cheesy now a days but she is very easy to understand and her music is widely available.

Achinoam Nini (also known as Noa)

Finnish: (I'm not sure how useful these are for learning Finnish, but I'm putting them here because I like to listen to them. These albums/ artists tend to be along the lines of folk music or folk music with modern influences.)

Värttinä- Personally, I love anything by Värttinä

Hedningarna- A Swedish group, but for several years they had 2 Finnish singers (singing in Finnish) Sanna Kurki-Suonio and Tellu Paulasto. Their albums Kaksi!, Trä and Karelia Visa have a lot of Finnish content.

Sanna Kurki-Suonio- especially her album Musta, she had another solo album Huria, which I didn't personally like as much.
