Wow. So excited to see a new entry in this series, and quite an intense one! It's always disconcerting to see how quickly Sherlock's brain tears itself apart without anything to work on; he is his own worst enemy. And of course Creepy!Moriarty is creepy, faux accent and all. Eeeep.
Wow, yeah. That was intense in just how painful and terrifying that is for him. Is the sandy-haired boy John, or John's dad? I'm really enjoying this 'verse.
OMG how did you get in my head?! Dear lord, I was writing something disturbingly similar to this for the show-verse. o_O (I'll maybe just keep that one to myself, now. lol)
Nicely done - I'm of the firm belief that forced sensory deprivation is possibly the single most cruel things you can do to Sherlock personally. You played it out well, here.
Don't keep it to yourself! There's always room for more sensory deprivation fic. :D (You may also want to check out thesardine's Evidence of Human Life or thisprettywren's Transport or A Significant Man. Or not, if it's going to make you feel more intimidated about posting.)
And thanks! I agree, although honestly in this case I think it was more utilitarian than out of a desire to torture- sedating him is almost doing him a favor, really.
Oooh, thanks for the references; I think I will go enjoy those...mmmm, now. XD (Honestly, I don't think I CAN get any more indimidated - this fandom is... impressive and overwhelming. Which is great on the reading end, and scary as all heck on the posting end.)

Oh, I get that - it's more a reference to the effect than the intent. It came across beautifully. ;)
Ahoy! Of course, you should go forth and read ALL my fic! j/k :D Actually, though, my sense-dep fic is Bird's Bone, although I guess Evidence might also count...the former is more straight forward/straight-jacket about it, while the latter is more "Sherlock is stranded someplace that's very very very boring," but he still has the use of all his senses. Anyway, shutting up now, except to say NEVER KEEP ANYTHING TO YOURSELF IN THE FANDOM! POST YOUR FIC! and also to heartily second the thisprettywren recs!
Of course you know I love Sherlock whumped in this particular manner, but what I really like about this piece is how much he remains Sherlock in his assessment and attitude. The stress is there, but it's still this energetic Sherlock stress, you know what I mean? I stuck myself with a shivering lump of a human being and now I have to undo it, and I'm like "bluh." I mean, I wanted to do it, and I did what I wanted, but I effectively erased everything I like about Sherlock Holmes! I want to tell him to get his goddamn act together and make some fucking deductions already! He'll get around to it soon, but I angsted him into a pretty deep hole...ANYWAY, whether or not you decide to go the angst route after this (I know it will be awesome no matter what), I liked the way you were able to keep the energy up without there being any energetic action - it was Sherlock lying on the floor the whole time, but it was suspenseful and compelling

I'm glad it was compelling; I was afraid it would be boring. I kind of pushed this one out the door a bit, to be honest; I've been working on the fic that shows what John does after they split up, and it's stuck to the point of pissing me right off. So I skipped ahead and wrote this in an attempt to knock the blockage loose

I think in some ways this kind of torture is worse for Sherlock than physical pain. It certainly drives you crazy quicker.

This is by far the most diabolical way of torturing Sherlock that I've ever read. It's perfect for show!Sherlock, and even better for powers!Sherlock.

Neither. The blond kid is just a blond kid- no relation.
Thanks for reading; I'm glad you're liking it!
