Of course you know I love Sherlock whumped in this particular manner, but what I really like about this piece is how much he remains Sherlock in his assessment and attitude. The stress is there, but it's still this energetic Sherlock stress, you know what I mean? I stuck myself with a shivering lump of a human being and now I have to undo it, and I'm like "bluh." I mean, I wanted to do it, and I did what I wanted, but I effectively erased everything I like about Sherlock Holmes! I want to tell him to get his goddamn act together and make some fucking deductions already! He'll get around to it soon, but I angsted him into a pretty deep hole...ANYWAY, whether or not you decide to go the angst route after this (I know it will be awesome no matter what), I liked the way you were able to keep the energy up without there being any energetic action - it was Sherlock lying on the floor the whole time, but it was suspenseful and compelling.
Also, we have yet to find out what's happened to John, but I love this:
Sherlock: If you go to Tanzania you'll get caught. Come with me.
I'm glad it was compelling; I was afraid it would be boring. I kind of pushed this one out the door a bit, to be honest; I've been working on the fic that shows what John does after they split up, and it's stuck to the point of pissing me right off. So I skipped ahead and wrote this in an attempt to knock the blockage loose.
My sympathies- that has got to be hard to do! In fairness, Sherlock was a prisoner a lot longer in your fic than in mine. I think he would crack up fairly quickly either way- even normal people start to lose it within the first couple days of sensory deprivation/isolation, and Sherlock is far from normal.
It would probably be more realistic for me to turn Sherlock into a shivering lump here, too, but I think I'm going to keep him drugged. Nobody is trying to drive him insane, after all; like I said above, the sensory dep is primarily utilitarian in purpose. I mean, would you really want Sherlock hanging around your lair deducing things?
And yeah, lol- that is part of why we love Sherlock so much. His fantastic planning skills.

John: No, you maniac. *runs away.*
Sherlock: *totally gets caught.*
