OMG how did you get in my head?! Dear lord, I was writing something disturbingly similar to this for the show-verse. o_O (I'll maybe just keep that one to myself, now. lol)

Nicely done - I'm of the firm belief that forced sensory deprivation is possibly the single most cruel things you can do to Sherlock personally. You played it out well, here.

Don't keep it to yourself! There's always room for more sensory deprivation fic. :D (You may also want to check out thesardine's Evidence of Human Life or thisprettywren's Transport or A Significant Man. Or not, if it's going to make you feel more intimidated about posting.)

And thanks! I agree, although honestly in this case I think it was more utilitarian than out of a desire to torture- sedating him is almost doing him a favor, really.

Ahoy! Of course, you should go forth and read ALL my fic! j/k :D Actually, though, my sense-dep fic is Bird's Bone, although I guess Evidence might also count...the former is more straight forward/straight-jacket about it, while the latter is more "Sherlock is stranded someplace that's very very very boring," but he still has the use of all his senses. Anyway, shutting up now, except to say NEVER KEEP ANYTHING TO YOURSELF IN THE FANDOM! POST YOUR FIC! and also to heartily second the thisprettywren recs!

LOL! You're right of course, why did I forget Bird's Bone? I think I thought of Evidence first because one, I love it to death, and two, you did such a good job writing crazy!sherlock and detailing the way lack of input can tear his brain apart. I hope Raw Data doesn't resemble Evidence, but I definitely thought about it a lot while I was writing, so it definitely influenced this.

Aha actually I assumed you had been thinking of Bird's Bone in the rec because it's so standard sense-dep, so when I saw Evidence, which I had never thought of particularly in that manner even though it is, I thought you were all the confuse but you weren't. :D (Oh yeah, I know that was a sweet sentence.)

I'm flattered that Island Survivor Sherlock was an influence, though! Raw Data definitely stands on its own merit, so you don't have to worry about there being a resemblance, I don't think.

I know what you mean about the intimidation; there's a hell of a lot of talent in the fandom. That's why I think you have to be writing for yourself first and foremost...but please don't let it stop you that there are other fics on the same theme! It's always fun to see how different writers spin the same idea.
