Not dead...promise

Okay, so I didn't get the job. I've dealt with it by burying myself in a total immersion Japanese language program. It uses pictures, mostly, to teach you the hiragana, katakana, and kanji...all at the same time. I'm, admittedly very slowly, picking up the hiragana now. It's making things much better for me. The program allows me to type in ( Read more... )

Sorry that I didn't send on any uplifting words when I noticed the job post. I too have been MIA for a bunch of diff. reasons & have been working thru a nasty state of depresion. Hope it doesn't become a yearly event.

My back hasn't been the best but I think I can write that off to my present wgt. & lack of abdominal muscle tone. I really do hope that you improve soon!

What course are you using to learn Japanese & is the program expensive? Sounds like a good way to learn!

Good to hear from you again & know that everything is ok. Did you guys feel the effects of the quake?

Thanks. The back has eased off a bit but, after another week of work, I'm sure it will be harassing me again. Degenerative arthritis and chondromalacia suck muchly, especially since I started having deterioration at 16. 21 years later my x-rays look like they belong to someone more than twice my age. Hereditary, too. I've already started giving Steven glucosamine because he's begun popping and cracking.

Here's the website where I got the language program. Try the free download. That's what I'm using. So far I've been very pleased and will most likely be purchasing the whole shebang. I tested myself today on what I learned over the last week and my retention is almost 100%.

I hope you feel better soon. I know the feeling. Depression has plagued me for more than twenty years, and people who don't have it just don't understand that you can't just "buck up" to make it better.

Many thanks. Will check it out when I am done with the semester. I'm stressing over a mini lesson that I am to teach tomorrow. This should have been finished already but nothing got done this weekend. I was still too out of it Sat. from all of the drugs that they shot me up with in the ER on Fri night to concentrate on chem stuff. Yesterday I was still ditzy & too hyper to get much done.

Man, didn't know that you had such a difficult situation. I hope that you start to feel better soon.

I think that a lot of what I've been dealing with is my birthday, the aniversary of my father's death, & knowing that my appearance & surroundings are just not what I would like them to be. Have had a lot of old issues surfacing.. it gets to be too much after a while.
