oh. my. god. I empathize with you, I do. I stopped signing up for challenges in Jan, as I had big stories I wanted to finish, but each time a new one is posted, I have to remind myself to not sign up. I can so see myself in the exact same spot.
Oh dear... that's a lot of stuff... I just stopped at wordclaim50. Okay, I've gotta ask you a question. Which episode is it that had the whole John War and Peace thing. I can't figure it out. I've been wracking my brain. I thought it was Conversion, but I watched it and then I thought maybe it's season two, but I looked through all of those... is it in season one? That just doesn't seem right. I mean the whole thing did happen in canon... right? Please help.
Brought War and Peace along, on the theory that he'd want something that would take a while to finish. Four-plus months into the mission, he'd made it to page 17. (Home S1 - episode 9)
Here's the bit from the transcript
ATLANTIS. JOHN'S QUARTERS. John is sitting and reading “War and Peace”. There's a knock on the door.
SHEPPARD: C'me in.
(The door slides open and Elizabeth walks in.)
WEIR: Hi. D'you have a moment?
SHEPPARD: Yeah, sure. (He sits up and puts the book down. Elizabeth looks at the cover.)
WEIR: “War and Peace”? (She picks it up.) Wow, that's some heavy reading.
SHEPPARD: Yeah, well, back on Earth when I was getting ready for this mission, I realised there was a good chance that I might be here for a while, so I figured why not bring along a book that takes a while to read?
WEIR (turning to the page that he has bookmarked): Page seventeen.
Ah... thank you. I didn't even think of Home.... seriously even though I've only seen it once or twice I was like no it can't be that one. Thank you so much!
