I was amused yesterday at the Chinese New Year dinner because, lo and behold, Chinese New Year scene in Naomi Novik's Throne of Jade.

Three facts about Aziraphale from my personal canon/fanon lilian_cho January 27 2009, 21:46:54 UTC
1) Aziraphale can read books as fast as he can physically turn pages*. However, he chooses to read at human speed** while occasionally sipping from a teacup.

2) There are many benefits to the apparent age of his mortal body. In addition to exuding a non-threatening presence, he never had to discourage interested*** suitors.

3) When Aziraphale inevitably mastered the Internet, he never had to deal with pop-ups, ads, spam and lags****. His favourite thing to do online is searching for out-of-print books.

* The fastest possible speed without igniting the pages.
** That is, at a leisurely pace.
*** Blatant sexual interest, which often happens to Crowley at most inopportune moments.
**** Despite the fact that his computer had no modem or Wi-fi in any shape or form.

Oh, I'd like to know about Dog, from Good Omens.

The last dream Dog had lilian_cho July 1 2009, 20:54:25 UTC
Before Dog came to be called Dog, it sometimes dreamt* of charred flesh and twisted limbs.

After Master gave him his name, Dog's dreams were filled with new smells and sounds, and that lovely** tree across Master's house.

Tonight, his tail*** twitched as he dreamt of running, paws leaving imprints on the muddy ground.

* Inasmuch that it could dream, as hell creatures, except for Crowley, do not sleep.
** The grass around it had turned yellow, but this didn't deter Dog's love affair with it.
*** It was a proper mutt tail, none of these snipped off Mini-Pinscher tails.

Yay, Dog! I was wondering what you would come up with for him.

My favorite is the second one - and the second footnote too^^ Dog's love affair with it ♥

Thank you!

Star Trek XI: Chekov.

1. Captain Kirk always flirts, and he doesn't have an "off" switch. Chekov is relieved that the Captain only teases him by calling him "Ensign Jailbait."

2. The beautiful and competent Lt. Uhura only treats him like a little brother.

3. Dr. McCoy is old.

4. Spock is intelligent and has a commanding presence, but it would unnerve him to be the focus of that measuring gaze for long.

5. Like everyone else on the U.S.S. Enterprise, Sulu is older than him. Sulu never pats his curls though, and he grinned that time Chekov said fencing was invented in Russia.

Funilly enough, I've read Kirk/Chekov and McCoy/Chekov (and Kirk/McCoy/Chekov)
I'm not sure I want to consider Spock/anyone, it's just... weird.

And I love the last one - you say everything without saying anything.

I think Chekov is the fandom teddy bear so they slash him with everyone =3
My heart's set on Sulu/Chekov though. They just seem so cute together (in my mind).

Hah, so Spock ~ Snape ~ asexual, then? X-D
I mostly read Kirk/Spock, but I am pleased with Spock/Uhura in canon. If I write ST XI fic it'll have to be gen ^^;;

you say everything without saying anything.

Thank you! Glad that came across <3

Three facts about Spock from my personal canon/fanon lilian_cho July 2 2009, 02:20:13 UTC
1. Sarek was negotiating Spock's bonding when he was informed that Spock physically assaulted a fellow student. T'Pring's father made a remark which caused Sarek to deduce that a bonding would be most infelicitous.

2. A Vulcan would find Spock and Uhura’s interaction inappropriate. Since there was no other Vulcan in the Academy, nobody noticed when Spock's gaze on Uhura lingered an extra 0.3 second.

3. When Spock marooned Kirk at Delta Vega, he calculated a 78% chance of Kirk leaving his pod, and a 92% chance of Kirk encountering a native predator. He didn’t calculate Kirk's chance of survival.

Thanks *g*

If Sarek had seen them, he would have been horrified at the heavy flirting.

Spock: *gazes at Uhura*

Uhura: *blinks, smiles*

Sarek: *dignified not-shouting* "Spock! Stop that inappropriate display at once!"

Everyone else: "Whuh?"
