I was amused yesterday at the Chinese New Year dinner because, lo and behold, Chinese New Year scene in Naomi Novik's Throne of Jade.

Laurence was embarrassed to see, when he glanced over, that Roland and Dyer were having not the least difficulty with their chopsticks and were already round- ( Read more... )

1. Captain Kirk always flirts, and he doesn't have an "off" switch. Chekov is relieved that the Captain only teases him by calling him "Ensign Jailbait."

2. The beautiful and competent Lt. Uhura only treats him like a little brother.

3. Dr. McCoy is old.

4. Spock is intelligent and has a commanding presence, but it would unnerve him to be the focus of that measuring gaze for long.

5. Like everyone else on the U.S.S. Enterprise, Sulu is older than him. Sulu never pats his curls though, and he grinned that time Chekov said fencing was invented in Russia.

Funilly enough, I've read Kirk/Chekov and McCoy/Chekov (and Kirk/McCoy/Chekov)
I'm not sure I want to consider Spock/anyone, it's just... weird.

And I love the last one - you say everything without saying anything.

I think Chekov is the fandom teddy bear so they slash him with everyone =3
My heart's set on Sulu/Chekov though. They just seem so cute together (in my mind).

Hah, so Spock ~ Snape ~ asexual, then? X-D
I mostly read Kirk/Spock, but I am pleased with Spock/Uhura in canon. If I write ST XI fic it'll have to be gen ^^;;

you say everything without saying anything.

Thank you! Glad that came across <3

before the new movie, Chekov was the most ignored fandom officer on the bridge.

Haha, all hail Anton Yelchin then >=D

(Although goodness does he look old. Wrinkles around his eyes, mouth, forehead on paper-thin skin. He doesn't have a 17 y.o. skin @_@)

*looks for his Imdb stats*

Hmm, 20 y.o., Jewish, son of figure skaters...interesting.

Curls *_*
Less geeky haircut

John Cho is 37 y.o. Huh. Long-live Asian skin or smth.

Son of a reverend. Hm.

And once again, the lines between fanfic and RPS is blurred.

hm. i thought he could pass for 17 perfectly, but everyone else looked too young for the ages they're supposed to be... too done up, i guess. should have gone with lighter make-up.

John Cho is a babyface XD

Even when we were just watching it in the cinema I could see his laugh wrinkles. Meep. He does act & have the youthful/exuberant expression of a 17-y.o. It's just those wrinkles =/

I think their make-up's pretty standard, actually.

When I watched it at IMAX, I can see clearly:
- Chris Pine's bumps (and moles?!)
- Quinto's five o'clock shadow (jaw & EYEBROW LINE)
- Yelchin's wrinkles on his paper-thin skin (crow's feet, forehead, mouth corners) He looks like a teenage addict. >_>

John Cho has more youthful-looking skin. Ahh, Asians and the key to eternal youth.
Still, when are they going to stop producing Harold & Kumar movies?!111
<-- haven't watched a single one

Apropos to nothing, do you think Andy Lau had a face-lift?

Thanks <3

Once I get the hang of drabbles, they're addictive =3 I think it's the exact word count that keeps me coming back.

Have you written drabbles in the past?

yea, i did try, but i didn't tend to find mine worth keeping lol
it's cos i'm too much of a meta-freak, i think. always having to wonder about how things get to a certain point and explaining everything, leave no stone unturned.... obsessive compulsive or some similar impairment when it comes to fiction.
