If you go there, go with me
Wild honey. . . I was driving through Pennington Gap earlier and I noticed that there appear to be a lot of new businesses coming into that little burg. A Little Mexico restraunt is scheduled to open in February. A Huddle House will be coming soon after that. Whigmaleeries ( ( Read more... )

I know earlier me and you quarled over Bush and the war, but now i have changed my mind.

The only thing i like about Bush is his stance on abortion. The war in Iraq is screwy on all sides. Isn't it odd how we can suddenly switch our focus from Afganistan to Iraq? We can go from the country that attacked us, to a country that did diddly squat to us on 9/11. It appears Bush lied on the WMD and about Iraq being a haven for terrorists. It is now of course, since we banged up the place and made it into this lawless waste land.

Apart from the war, he has taken many millions that veterans would have recieved in benefits and flushed it into this war. Unemployment actually has risen, the economy is worse that it was before Bush, the national debt i think has nearly doubled, etc...

My take on Bush is he is a good man morally, but a terrible president and leader.

Btw, don't you think it was odd how he got elected? More folks voted for Gore but got Bush?

Electoral Votes count more than Popular Votes. Then again, my teacher is a Democrat whose trying to recruit us into the Democratic race and thinks Regan is the worse president ever.

I think the entire electorial system should be done away with. It's been in place ever since this country was founded, and I personally find it to be outdated and an insult to the intelligence of the voters.

The reason I like Bush is because with Clinton my mom had to get a job so I had to become a latch-key kid around age 9. That's probably why I'm not as close with my parents. With Bush, we actually got money back from our taxes. I'm more of an Independent that's closer to Republican due to what I read in Civics class:

*Democrates believe in giving people welfare if they don't have money.
*Republicans believe in giving people jobs if they don't have money.

I'm from Texas originally, so that might factor in ;). What I don't get is why Bush is using America's money instead of having Iraq sell oil to rebuild their country. They have plenty of it and can become even richer than America.

"They have plenty of it and can become richer than America."

I don't think Bush or any other politician wants anyone to become richer than America. And so far, they've somehow managed to be successful in keeping that from happening.

I say as long as my country fights, I should back her, wrong or right. I do live here. I don't wanna argue about that though. I'm more interested in the fact that our little spit spot is growing. I don't like the city I have left it twice, but the fact remains that a little business never hurt nobody.

Amen Highlandrain! I feel the same way about backing this country. I wish business would build here, then maybe my friends may be hired for jobs and I can keep my spot within the top 10% of my class, unfortunately, since the last time it was counted only 154 kids were seniors, that means 15 kids would be eligible for the top 10%, but more are bound to drop out so I might fall back.
