You can go there if you please
Wild honey
If you go there, go with me
Wild honey. . .

I was driving through Pennington Gap earlier and I noticed that there appear to be a lot of new businesses coming into that little burg. A Little Mexico restraunt is scheduled to open in February. A Huddle House will be coming soon after that. Whigmaleeries (whatever the hell that is) will be opening in less than a month or so. Also my aunt has just rented out the old Renee's Fashions storeroom to some sort of medical business, which I presume will either be a home-health care place or a medical supply store, although I'm not sure which.

Add to these soon to be in Pennington businesses the opening of Sears Appliances, the Dollar Wise, and the arrival of the Mustard Seed, all of which have sprung up in the past year and a half, and you have a lot of business growth for that little hick town. You may be asking yourself what the point of this entry is by now. Well, here goes:

Over the past few months, I've been taking a Democratic position on most issues in politics, with the exception of abortion. However, despite the fact that many Democrats are saying that Bush is screwing up the economy, my little home town of Pennington Gap appears to be doing just fine, and my current place of residence, Pennington's sister city of Jonesville, appears to be growing a little bit, as well. (mind you, not as fast or as drastically as Pennington, but the airport is a very strong accomplishment)

So maybe in the 2004 election, at which time I will be eligible to vote, buy a pack of cigarettes, and go down to Soft Pettles in Wise and buy that double sided 24-inch dildo to shove in the faces of uptight people as a sick joke >heheh< I'll vote for George W. Bush one more time. After all, whatever his economic system is appears to be getting us more businesses and more jobs around Lee County than we ever had while Bill Clinton was in charge.

However, I also keep in mind the fact that perhaps the current economic growth in Lee County has nothing to do with Bush. Maybe it's just coincidence. I'll have to see who's running. I don't like the war simply because I don't like vioence, and I don't like the fact that anyone who questions the war is labled as "unpatriotic." However, I strongly agree with Bush's Christian ethics, particularly his stand on abortion. So, I suppose it's just a matter of who else is running.

Sorry to bring up politics, but it's conversation.
