There was a point in my life when i learned to be more tolerant of films with high predictability, admitting that something predictable doesn't necessarily decrease its value. How a story is told can make a predictable story amazing and an unpredictable story an utter piece of crap.

The story was very gripping, the fight scenes were very well done and helped immerse me in the story. Barry's character was pretty great - he had a lot of depth as a protagonist, and despite the fact that the plot idea of "The Flash is the focal point for everything being right vs wrong in the world" was a recycled one from the Justice League ( Read more... )

when i was playing cards at the casino the other night, i saw (amongst some awesome Wimbledon action) a trailer for the new Wolverine movie. i couldn't hear any sound out of the trailer, but there was some text that slowly revealed itself through the trailer that went like this:

I didn't see Bruce Timm's name on the credits and it was because of this i discovered that after the cancellation of Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice that Timm basically quit. Wiki has some basic hints that Timm is in negotiations to come back in some capacity which i hope is true - it will make me incredibly sad if he never ( Read more... )

what makes the film such a success for me is how deeply emotionally impacting it is in a way that came from within, an effect of the movie's brilliance in orchestration. The film has an early established sense of surreality, has very little dialogue or exposition, and lacks straightforward continuity, yet the film is still incredibly accessible ( Read more... )

my stomach was doing some odd things due to food that disagreed with me so i decided to not do too much other than lay around to recover. the first hour or so of the film was okay, but after that it was pretty much a disaster. the plot that was woven so interestingly at the beginning turned into a lot of nonsense with mysteries that when resolved didn't live up to the hype that they was built up for them, and the way that the conflicts and action scenes evolved during the second ( Read more... )

it's funny, because the impression i get from reading about these movies online is that most people liked Quantum of Solace the least, and out of the three i think that was probably my favorite. In comparison to Casino Royale it just felt like a smoother movie throughout with no dialogue or transition issues despite having a more confusing plot ( Read more... )
