when i was playing cards at the casino the other night, i saw (amongst some awesome Wimbledon action) a trailer for the new Wolverine movie. i couldn't hear any sound out of the trailer, but there was some text that slowly revealed itself through the trailer that went like this:

THE FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE
images images images, surely some dramatic music
WILL BE HIS OWN.
"The fight for his life will be his own."
*blinks*
the fight for his life will be the fight for his life.
*pause*
what you're saying is, in case it wasn't clear, that fighting for his life means that he's fighting for his own life. As opposed to say, the fight for his life being the fight for, um, her...? life?....
yes, i know what the phrase is actually trying to say, but it utterly and miserably fails at doing it effectively. Whoever came up with it and whoever in the QA department felt that that byline sounded like something intelligent needs to be fired.
The fight for your job.... is FOR YOUR JOB.
okay, i'm done.
