He talks about "reform" and such, but the hurricane and his poor planning as well as support of failure (see Brown) reflect his actual committment to people that aren't in his elite circles. It took the deaths of many to bring him out of the longest break in presidential history.
While one of the effects of the invasion, the removal of a dictator, is positive, the aftermath isn't so great. We're still there, and we have control of their economy and we are profiting wildly from it.
When Cheney took head of Halliburton in 95, he promised not to trade with Baghdad. But a war on terror was sacrificed for money. The profits we gave them fueled Hussein' ( ... )
